My local independant. garage has the same policies as yours but an awfully lot cheaper. Plus they let me supply oil and filters or any other parts that need replacing.It saves. them hassle and I always buy oil that is price reduced in Tesco so have a stock.

i think your wire mesh may be defeating the object. the collection of so many leaves won't help anything when soaked in water. As Deluks says clean all the other debris from behind it at the same time and seal it once refitted

If you have a multi meter disconnect the leads to the heater element and check for continuity (step 3 above)

I guess you checked that there was no damage to belt and other drive components while you were checking for brushes. Was the drum free to turn by hand. Did the water drain ok. Are there any error codes. Is it the same in all modes.
