Thanks, if I had known about these they would’ve been perfect. I don’t think I can retro fit tho.

    Shower wallpanel ceiling gap

Hi I’ve just installed about 3m of shower panels in an L shape in my bathroom. It’s not the nearest job I’ve ever done and I now have up to an inch gap where the panels meet the ceiling which is freshly plastered and painted. I think coving might look a bit odd on shower panel walls, and just...

Vaillant Ecotec Plus - Luke warm water

FFS! It’s the thermostatic shower! That’s why when I’ve been closing the CW supply at the boiler, all the hot taps in the house still run at the same flow rate (with CW, of course)! Thanks @Johntheo5 for all your persistence and advice.

Vaillant Ecotec Plus - Luke warm water

This is odd. The DHW at boiler is hot to touch, i.e. the 43 degrees D.04 reading being given is correct. If I grip the pipe it becomes uncomfortable after 5-7 secs. However, 2.5m away, at the kitchen HW tap, the water’s lukewarm! There’s a tee beneath the boiler leading to a WC, and closer to...

Vaillant Ecotec Plus - Luke warm water

Hi Sorry, I don’t have a thermometer so can’t take actual reading. If a v hot bath is around 38-40 degrees, I estimate the DHW temperature being produced is below 30 degrees. I measured flow of 8.5LPM at kitchen sink, 2.5m pipe run from boiler. D.36 reading is 4. D.04 is 42. Kitchen tap is...

Vaillant Ecotec Plus - Luke warm water

Hi Running at 4.5lpm when HW set at 50 degrees results in temp climbing to over 60, burner cutting out until temp falls, then repeats again and again. As described in OP. Running at 8.5lpm, d.40 - 55-60, d.41 - 51, d.36 - 4. Whether running at 4.5 or 8.5lpm, temp no where near 50 degrees...

Vaillant Ecotec Plus - Luke warm water

Hi CH working fine. Just set rads to 55 degrees and boiler operating constantly at 57 for 6-7mins now. Rads are fairly hot to touch too, definitely close to desired temp. Makes me think not a blocked plate then? So more likely canoe filter?

Vaillant Ecotec Plus - Luke warm water

Hi Just ran it to measure flow rate - it’s approx 8.5l/min. The burner stayed on but water was tepid although display fluctuated between 54-61 degrees.

Vaillant Ecotec Plus - Luke warm water

Hi Ecotec Plus 831 HW only luke warm, CH working fine. When running HW, flow pipes do not get warm. Diverter valve has been replaced (probably unnecessarily). When running HW, burner starts, temperature rises few degrees above setting then burner cuts out, temp falls then burner continues on...

    Replacing a TurboMax Plus 828

Hi My TurboMax 828 is 23 yrs old and the diverter valve has been replaced three times in the last three years. So now thinking of replacing the boiler with another Vaillant. Would prefer to keep existing flue, if it is still in good condition. Would anyone know if the ecoTEC plus or ecoFIT...

    Drain pipe

Hi I have a first floor flat. I’ve got a CW pipe that runs from the bath feed, out the wall, and down 12ft to garden level, where it’s connected to a garden tap. I fitted a shut off valve and a drain valve inside the flat. My plan was to shut off the tap every winter to stop it freezing...

    New heating control not connecting

Hi Thanks for the responses. That makes sense. I’ve fitted a few of these over the years and each time I’ve had to remove a little wire/bridge on the boiler. So, I take it I should be using the terminals marked 24V? Daljit

    New heating control not connecting

Hi I have a Glowworm Energy(7) 30C and tried fitting a Drayton prog thermostat but it doesn’t seem to be doing anything! The boiler’s manual shows it’s pretty straightforward to connect a battery operated wired thermostat - just connect two wires to the eBus terminals. I’ve done this but the...

    Disconnecting CU supply (photos)

Hi all I appreciate the words of caution, I really do. I’ve seen these fuses in the stairwell of tenement flats, and aware electricians remove them to cut supply to specific flats. I imagined them to be similar to the old style fuses, which although exposed to hell, seemed pretty safe to work...
