Advice -Doni need superseal inserts on these 10mm Pegler rad fittings?

Yes I know that. But superseal/sleeve type inserts don’t fit. The ends are to wide and fat. Looks like you have to use compression type inserts as below.

Advice -Doni need superseal inserts on these 10mm Pegler rad fittings?

Hi all Picked up 4 of these today ti fit to new rads. It’s all mainly JG 10mm with JG super seal (with rubbers) inserts in all connections. On looking at these it seems it is VERY tight to get a superseal insert on as it seems so tight as the insert it very slightly wider/pokes out more...

Advice - 40mm Solvent Weld leaking on joint to a ‘grey’ 40mm waste??

Did not have chance to post pics as leak was not from my repair it was from shower that has 250mm cladding. Looks likes it’s been fixed to battens behind at approx 1 ft horizontal. The tray is solid and smooth sunk in slightly. When I spray jet direct at the vertical joins it’s like...

Advice - 40mm Solvent Weld leaking on joint to a ‘grey’ 40mm waste??

The problem is there is now a 2ft gap between pipes when it cut out yet again. It was just one SV fitting. That failed. I then cut out about 1ft to get a new sort length of PVC and 2 couplers. Now I have to cut it again!! If I have to use compression couplers I would be doing just the...

Advice - 40mm Solvent Weld leaking on joint to a ‘grey’ 40mm waste??

Hi all I had a leak from a bath waste last year and it was found to be a coupler between new 40mm PVC to a grey PVC pipe. The white/new side from bath waste was fine but it was if the other side to the existing grey waste pipe had silicon on it and not solvent glue? Also there was ‘pressure’...

Advice Please -Radiator valve stuck/whole body comes loose when trying to open -10mm??

I managed to get it back in and like you stated if you do over tightening it it does effect the valve operation. All back and zero leaks (I had blue roll wrapped all around it). The boiler is still losing pressure though BUT I think it may be the expansion vessel as the pressure jumps about...

Advice Please -Radiator valve stuck/whole body comes loose when trying to open -10mm??

There’s no pressure there anyway. Only got HW. So the gland just pushes in and nut holds it? Want I do t get it that it’s has 1.5/2bar in it like that and was o my a very slight weep. I checked other rads lock shields and the nut definitely goes in there. I’ll have a play tomorrow if I get...

Advice Please -Radiator valve stuck/whole body comes loose when trying to open -10mm??

So the white bush part is not threaded? It it actually held in place by the brass bush I found? It seems way to much of a coincidence to find it with valve covers. I’ll check another old existing valve later and compare it. Cheers

Advice Please -Radiator valve stuck/whole body comes loose when trying to open -10mm??

I have some yellow gas tape. Never new it was thicker tbh, plus I always wrap correctly with thread. What I did find today on a window cill was this below. Is this not the ‘part’ that actually holds the inner ‘valve’ in place? Has it somehow been removed by someone trying to just open the...

Advice Please -Radiator valve stuck/whole body comes loose when trying to open -10mm??

I just find the the tails keep on screwing on the way in? I’ve tried with PTFE and still get weeping joints. Never tried adding paste as well though. Plumber I know stated 13 turns. The threads are so long on tails what part of tail is it best applied. Bit confused on last turn on the end...

Advice Please -Radiator valve stuck/whole body comes loose when trying to open -10mm??

So it is a 15mm valve. I really do not want to remove the ‘tail’ going into rad if possible. That’s what I meant by ‘interference’ fit’ just did not know the correct terminology just needs to be clean (some use paste). I have had a few valves from Screwfix recently and they have all had...
