The nut will be imperial because the ballcock is 1/2 BSP and the nut is screwed onto it.
It won't make any difference to what you want to do..Just change the ballcock and add an isolating valve.

All the threads are BSP and in any case 15mm and old imperial will fit each other.
Just undo the nut on the inlet.remove ballvalve and fit new.Add an isolating valve and job done in 15 min's.
You didn't need the black section of pipe as the flexi would probably have fitted into the pipe with the collar.You would then also not have an uphill run.
Or just fit a £5, 22mm bent tap connector.....compression of course.
