Are any of the other measurements critical? Because otherwise if you allow 100mm for the straight section jn the middle and pull your 2 bends, then at some point they'll be 400mm apart. Just measure and cut.

Because these systems often have a backup heating system (immersion) built in. If the boiler breaks you can still get hot water. If your on demand system fails you've got nothing until it gets fixed.

If the valve is already knackered, you haven't got anything to lose by trying to turn it with some pliers now. Go slowly though, you don't want to get it fully open, and then not be able to close it!
