I have never cut 20mm porcelain but I have angle grinded hundreds of porcelain tiles. I still think that 18mm ply might help. Perhaps the plastic worktop is flexing. Perhaps it if flexing as you push down with the angle grinder. How did you cut the tiles without cutting in to the plastic worktop?

I don't see what the problem is. High sheen or not, the tile is sealed. The ongoing condensation suggests that you might want to increase airflow. Sorry, the above is not supposed to be read as my being dismissive.

So you only applied a couple of mm? You might be able to chip it off. Is it sand and cement under it?

Which products did you use? You might be able find a suitable solvent to remove the sealant from the sand cement(?) grout, but it might be the case that it has penetrated too deeply. Are we talking about grout or pointing?

Would bending the wings in help you to gain the required depth?

Given that the point of the DPC is to stop capillary action, I do not see how it being set back by a couple of mm will cause any problems. Any such capillary moisture surely will evaporate off in the day.
