What is the purpose of this item. It sits between engine block & coil. Surely without it the coil will still operate as the bolts mount flush with the coils metal part so shorting out isnt an issue. So assume for vibration etc ? Just trying to look at every possibility now.

So just look for some photos and see that the key way is part machined in the magneto / flywheel.

Just to add. Choke off & me not touching throttle lever at all I use carb cleaner in plug hole. Pull saw over and not even a splutter doing it that way. I tried this way to file out lake of fuel etc

Whilst im waiting i noticed when the choke is set to be on the flap isnt shutting 100% so ive bent the metal rod a touch so now it does.

I agree with spark Lines of piston were maybe more than expected So coil is ordered, anything else spark related i can check ?
