If the meter is leaking then water would be visible around it. The pipe from the meter to your stopcock is , unfortunately,your responsibility. Show us a picture of the inside of the " manhole with the meter in"

Is the domestic hot water temperature excessively hot when it trips ? Show us a picture of the immersion stat .

Your pipes are too close to the wall to allow any double panel radiator to be fitted without altering the pipework.

Your radiator may need the flow and return to be connected into specific inlet ports, or it will not heat properly.

Yes,that's what I thought. Drain down needed before removing that valve.

Which tap is leaking ? If it's the one on the cold mains end ,you don't need to drain the heating as the other valve doesn't need to be removed. However, it looks like it's the valve on the heating side that's leaking and a drain down would be sensible.

So the RCD trips as soon as the MCB for kitchen socket circuit is switched to on ,but does the MCB also trip ?

The pipe should insert fully into the fitting. To be on the safe side I would replace, as it's going to be buried and tiled over ,the pipe and fittings are relatively cheap.

Any further info on the extractor ? £250 ,is that just for the call out ?? Get some other prices. Possibly for Monday.

Hand tightening the silver disc will not cure any leak. All that disc does is connect the actuator head onto the valve body. As already advised ,remove the head and examine what's beneath it, If the leak is there you will need a complete new valve to be fitted.

Doesn't look black in colour ,more like green.

Still isn't the cause ,a contributing factor maybe.

There is obviously a fault on that socket circuit. A picture of the rest of the consumer unit would be helpful. Is there an extractor unit above the hob ?

If the RCD can reset with kitchen sockets MCB switched off and outside lights MCB switch on ,then the outside lights isn't the cause of the RCD tripping.

You would need to know how the oven and hob connect to the circuit in order to rule them out. If they are plugged into sockets the plugs need to be removed. If they are wired through a double pole isolation switch ,that would suffice.

You need to do all of them ,so there is nothing at all missed.

If it's leaking from above that nut there is no point tightening it. Remove the TRV head (the big white thing) by unscrewing the silver disc beneath it. See if there is any sign of leakage on the top of the valve body.
