Have you a pressure reducing valve on its supply?.

Triton T80Z Fast Fit Solenoid Valve

I didn't see them on the Triton or other websites, obviously you can get (a box) of them after you remove the solenoid valve but this isn't very convenient if you are 50 miles or so from the "shops".

    Under sink water heaters

I'm not so sure about that, the schematic below shows a pressure reducing valve but not a expansion vessel, the 2.8M or 4.2M required for expansion might give the impression that no expansion vessel is required, also the statement below can lead to confusion, IMO.

    Under sink water heaters

That sometimes creates a bit of confusion as one might think that the pipework itself can accomodate the expansion, say ~ 0.3L with a 15L cylinder but it must have no restriction right back to the mains like a PRV or a NRV, its only, IMO, to ensure hot water doesn't come out the cold tap. A...

Triton T80Z Fast Fit Solenoid Valve

Daughter's (Feb 2023) 9.0kW Shower takes ~ 15 to 25 secs to reach its normal flowrate after pressing the start/stop button, it looks like the solenoid valve plunger is sticking while opening but not while closing as it shuts the water off instantly on pressing the button. The coil checks out...

Assuming there isn't a NRV in the mains supply which will prevent the expansion, what is the max capacity allowed without installing a EV??

Vailliant sustain 418 heat only problem

And (a) PL, where the cable is be run from to the circ pump?.

Vailliant sustain 418 heat only problem

A S plan does have motorized valves but where pump overrun is required then the same logic should apply as above, ie the switched live goes to the boiler only, the logic then fires the boiler and sends the start and (delayed) stop demand to the circ pump but because the pump overruns with the...

Vailliant sustain 418 heat only problem

Isn't a permanent live, switched by the above, still required at the pump, to drive it?.

Vailliant sustain 418 heat only problem

Is or are the boiler and pump just starting and stopping together now?, if so, can't really see this causing a F83, it obviously needs to be wired correctly. its likely that the boiler logic will (when wired correctly) start the pump a few seconds before starting the boiler, the overrun time...

Loosing a lot of hot water. Pressure release valve ????

You have a common tundish for the ERV and the T&PRV, establish which one is discharging, also post the setting of each, its stamped on the ends.

Loosing a lot of hot water. Pressure release valve ????

You say its still 3.2bar on the cylinder side, does it rise at night or if you reheat the cylinder during the day with no HW draw off?, if the PRV (pressure reducing valve) is not drop tight then the pressure can rise due to leakage past the PRV, especially at night with no HW draw off. There...

Vailliant sustain 418 heat only problem

That's the way I see it so its not wired like shown in post #24 where the 3 way valve is connected to SL in the boiler and PL is connected to the pump and this is what the Vaillant engineer is stating?.

Vailliant sustain 418 heat only problem

If, after the boiler (burner) shuts down when either its switched off manually or is shutdown by the (last) room stat or cylinder stat and if the pump runs on for a few minutes and then stops, then the system is wired correctly and installing this other wire directly won't cure a F83 problem...

Vailliant sustain 418 heat only problem

Have you got a permanent live to the boiler?, if so and the Vaillant engineer is correct, "Vailliant engineer stated there no cable from y plan to boilor for pump and on Valllliant you need that or can gdt F83." then that permanent live will only logically be used for frost protection. If no...

Vailliant sustain 418 heat only problem

I think it should be wired in this manner??

Vailliant sustain 418 heat only problem

Here are two schematics of a Y plan, in both, the switched live starts both the boiler and the pump, very common in oil fired boilers with no pump overrun, but most, if not all (now) Gas fired boilers, the switched live just goes to the boiler which will have a permanent live to do the required...

Triton T80 Easi-Fit+ Thermostatic 8.5kW electric shower, odd flow control problems

Here are a few photos of a old Mira shower stabilization valve, the valve is (in photo) just hanging from a piece of fishing line. This valve is incorporated in the flow (temperature) control valve and I think the water pressure just pushes the spring loaded valve open a certain amount based on...

Triton T80 Easi-Fit+ Thermostatic 8.5kW electric shower, odd flow control problems

For Info. Just carried out my yearly check of shower (9.0kW, T80Z), filter clean, flowrate test. & terminal connections. My mains pressure is now only 2.2Bar static which results in a max shower (upstairs) flowrate of exactly 6.0LPM. The heating can element resistances are (Eco) 9.4ohms &...

    No water from Shower head

That neon light in the shower should be on regardless of whether the shower is on or off AS LONG as there is power to the shower, you should have a pull cord switch in the bathroom or sometimes, but rarely a switch at the bathroom door (like a light switch), the shower may have been (against...
