Is this normal with dry-lining back boxes or is mine broken?

Box lug / wing might be broken on the one side. I've had that may times so carry spares. If you can buy same box you can remove the one side and replace without taking the old box out. Is it yellow?

    New cut keys

Keys aren't cut very well maybe. Match up and spot difference. Always get a key cut from a good key vs a worn key. Any trouble take it back. Also it's a 5 min job to swap lock barrel and new barrels can come with 5 keys. Any problems take your own barrel to locksmith to match. Screwfix have...

Is this normal with dry-lining back boxes or is mine broken?

Pull it forward after fitting box. So you put box in. Push wings out and pull wings forward. Should lock a bit. I've done loads and no problem. Odd if both sides are broken

'69 reg Fiesta air con not cooling air

Vacuum test to find leak or they can put a die in. I wasted money paying for a die as it blew straight out. I stick to aircon specialist now vs garages as they aren't very knowledgeable I found. Yeah you can gas it yourself and see what happens as may come out and you will notice it

How to Waterproof and insulate a single skin brick porch. What are the option

I just used treated timber. I didn't bother with membrane. It is dry and not wet enough to cause timber rot. Well for the next 100 plus years. I'd just stick insulated plasterboard on wall with foam though. That's easier

What effect does the boiler temperature setting have?

Combi boiler has two dials. Hot water and radiator temperature. Don't sound like yours is a combi. So dial on boiler is radiator temperature. Hot water temperature is controlled in airing cupboard and if its really hot then thermostat maybe broken. It's just going full on boiling water

How to Waterproof and insulate a single skin brick porch. What are the option

Follow this guy. I've done it myself a few time's. The other way is to screw timber frame to wall. Kingspan in the timber frame. Kingspan will act at a vapour barrier so no need for membrane. Plasterboard over.

    Mystery of water under bath

The black cable operates the plug? Hold is and turn knob to confirm as you will feel it. If you lay news paper under the bath any drips will cause the print to run which may help you see where it's coming from

Advice on stripping multi layered mould on bathroom ceiling

Often when you have mould like that there is a lack of insulation above ceiling. This causes ceiling to become cold in the winter months and the hot moisture in the steam or damp towels etc settles on ceiling causing mould. Have a look at the insulation above and add more if required. If you...

    Inspection chamber with unbound slabs

I'm no expert but I say the same as slabs. Keep it's same height. You could throw a handful of cement around the drain area in sand as that will help stop any movement. Worst case you lift slabs and level again as not difficult to fix if its a problem.

    Lack of drainage in border

Don't worry about it. Normal. Mt gravel drive had a huge puddle yesterday with the rain. I'm lying new patio and where I dug out on the clay, it was like a pond last year. Chucked gravel over then I'll layed slabs. That's a low point and water runs to it. You probably have solid ground so...
