    Porch looks like its twisting/warping

Thanks @tell80 . I think my plan of action will be to seal over the cracks with mastic and then bury my head in the sand and try and forget about. Honestly, this bloody house has been a ####ing nightmare. Wish Id never bought the damn thing.

    Leak behind soffit boards

Haha - fantastic - thankyou! I will investigate further tomorrow. Probably best thing to do is extend the roof a few inches further into the gutter. And also buy the foam filler stuff.

    Leak behind soffit boards

Thanks guys. I had cowboys work on the house. All the jobs they did looked superficially ok, but over the past 5 years Ive had to have most of the work done again. >:( . So its no surprise the whole thing looks poorly done. @pcaouolte : Do you know what that filler stuff is called? I dont even...

    Leak behind soffit boards

Thanks! I will investigate further. I always wondered whether than rubber thing was doing more harm than good - it means I cant clean the gutter! If I remove it I wonder whether that means the water will run off the sheets into the gutter.

    Porch looks like its twisting/warping

Hi @tell80 Heres some more photos: Small crack has formed along the door sill: Looks like theres been a bit of movement on the roof line. Its just odd that its been fine for 30 years, and then this heatwave and its moved so much! :(

    Leak behind soffit boards

Hi guys Ive just checked the guttering on the annex roof. Its leaking behind the soffit(?). How could that happen? The guttering itself seems fine/sturdy. This is the view from above. Any advice would be helpful! Thanks

    Porch looks like its twisting/warping

Thanks @tell80 . I suspect youre right that theres no foundations on the porch. But its been fine for 30+ years (the previous owner built it) and now has suddenly come away. Perhaps thats the nature of things. (and just my luck! :cautious:) I will take some further photos. Im currently away but...

    Porch looks like its twisting/warping

Hi guys I noticed 2 weeks ago all these crack around the front porch. It gets the full sun on it in the afternoon. I think its been so sunny/hot the past few months that its possibly warped the porch. I polyfillered over the cracks, but the following week theyve all opened back up: It...

How do I fix this plug?

Hi guys How do I replace this plug? Im not sure what happened to it. I presume it got stuck (should their be a spring in it?) and the tenant levered it out (hence the mark on the rim). Underside of plug: In situ: Is this an easy fix? Thanks

Good method of sound proofing a garden fence and fence toppers?

@Why Not Indeed : Lol - tell me about it! I spend half my life wiping that lens! I think its the actual camera rather than the lens. Its an old iPhone 6. Time for a new phone I think! Good idea about the bamboo! @JohnD : The fence blew down in Storm Eunice! So I know that the fence posts...

Good method of sound proofing a garden fence and fence toppers?

Thanks guys. Just been looking at that acoustic fencing. It is expensive isnt it? :( Hedge isnt going to be an option unfortuantely (as much as Id like on!) becuase the parking bay is on compacted hardcore, so theres no soil there. Noice insulation would be great, but also just closing up the...

Good method of sound proofing a garden fence and fence toppers?

Hi all, I currently have this fence on my parking bay: Theres a busy road the other side of that fence that I want to screen as much noise from as possible. Does such a thing exist? Youll see the existing fence (that I dont want to remove) has big gaps in. So perhaps some planking going...

How best to fit a bathroom blind?

Yes, I thought that too. But presumably I could move it forward a few cms to avoid the handles. I thought I would mount it outside the reveal, but I dont want to be hitting the blind with my elbow while Im in the shower. I suppose theres pros/cons to either approach.

How best to fit a bathroom blind?

Hi I have this recessed window in the bathroom. (the window sill is plastic, not wood). I really need to fit something over the window as I keep giving the farmer a surprise when I take a shower! I was going to fit velux blinds, but Ive heard some people say theyre a pain to clean. Perhaps...

    What toilet seat is this?

Hmm, I cant find a toilet seat which is exactly same size as mine. Does it matter? Mine is 34 x 43cm; whereas the ones Im finding on ebay are usually 37 x 46cm. Does it matter much or should I try and get one exactly same size?
