What boiler do i need can you answer my problem

Here's one. And it is Worcester-Bosch to you. And I would ask a question; if you were going to design a boiler* and make a big fuss about it having only a few moving parts, would one of those parts be a cheap Wilo pump? *If it is an original design, how come I've seen Potterton, Ferroli...

Which underfloor heating option is best out of these 2?

Some of us on here are fitting miles and miles of the stuff; on a regular basis. You have a sample of one. Builders always use the cheapest heating components they can find; the standard pump option on your link looks like it has just landed from China and the CE mark is still wet.

3 millibar leak from Worcester 35CDI Combi Boiler, sounds expensive

The gas transporter won't be particularly interested in a 3mB drop across the carcass at full modulation. Neither will they be interested in a 0.5mB pressure drop - unless you can smell gas. If it worries you and you can't smell gas, you will need to get in an RGI and expect to pay, of course.

Central Heating for 4th Floor Flat

The hob would not have sufficient supply only if some chancer connected a combi to the supply, even one that could work down to 13mB when on full load. My point was that the hob could not safely be connected to the same supply with 13mB working pressure in the house, without significantly...

Combi boiler needs gas supply pipe to be larger?

I fit them, lots of. Hardly any problems, and if something does go wrong, they've got the best support in the business.

Has my CH system been flushed correctly?

Every now and then I revisit this forum - and today was a cracker. Tony lusting publicly over saris; halter neck dress wearing, recently bereaved women - and their daughters. And the emergency wine! And that's before the 'stan' story. Do tell us more about the awful trousers.

Central Heating for 4th Floor Flat

If your gas supply runs through a communal shared staircase it can't be copper, there are other rules at play here. As above, system boiler and cylinder would be the answer. Even a 24Kw combi would have excessive pressure drop. A gas registered installer cannot install a new appliance with a...

    Grundfos Central Heating Pump Plan

If you have a Grundfos pump plan, you will still have the wiring centre, because they were supplied together. If you have a heating system with two Grundfos pumps (far more common) you need an installer who understands electrics. That should be any boiler installer; but the reality is many...

    Kerosene Combi Boiler advice pls

I used the word 'sophistication' with sarcasm. With the Worcester the heat bank is well insulated. It is smaller than any normally specified unvented cylinder - so I'm not sure why you think the losses from a small store would be greater than a large one; you must explain that one day...

    Kerosene Combi Boiler advice pls

Last time I was on their Vortex Blue familiarisation the 10yr warranty excluded the blast tube and the flame cell, which is v expensive. I don't think it is the 'whole boiler'. Grant combis have had a poor rep; the reference to the expansion vessel is because the shell was only just strong...

Try asking Screwfix what spares they hold for that tap, before buying it*. Then you will know what to expect. *I think I know the answer to this one

Replace Keston C25 12 yr old packed up

You could question how 'the same engineers who give advice to all the forums' can also claim to have the most experience. There are two possible reasons for this; - they don't sleep, at all. Not even after Hammersmith*. - or they overstate their knowledge and experience to impress mug...

It'll work of course, we were doing these 15 yrs ago on a manifold, but you are comparing a push bike to a car.

    Boiler flue

If the boiler draws in air that has already been through the combustion system (vitiated, we call it), the C02 in it (say, 10%) will be burnt again turning it to C0. In the time it has taken to read this the process will have occurred a few times over and the C0 reading will be getting very...

Mdpe 25mm pipe delivered with scuffs. Should I return?

We had dramas with some very scratched 63mm a few months back. Had to use LS-X in the end to stop it dribbling in the fitting. Pipe was pulled in by a builder through a pair of brick apertures. Gas MDPE is even more of a drama for scratches causing leaks in compression fittings. If it is...

    Megaflo water heater not working

The first thing to check with a Megaflo is that the thermal trip in the thermostat head hasn't activated. You need to turn off the juice, remove the cover and see if a small pin is sticking out of the thermostat. If it is, reset and turn the temp knob down slightly. Failing that you need to...

    Condensate pipe into bucket...

When early condensing boilers were installed in the 80s (such as the Archie Kidd VHE) it was very common for them to be connected to a large plastic drum, particularly in a cellar location. It is only comparatively recently that building regulations have caught up and made a load of silly...

    NEST

Just to remind you, that after getting advice from this forum you have elected to have your boiler repaired rather than replaced. The forum has been very helpful to you. All you have done is rubbish the forum, and waste both retailers and tradesmens' time. You do not occupy the moral high ground.
