What have you been doing today?

What? You mean you’d have to tie your shoes laces every time you put the shoes on?!? The horror, the horror!

    ****ty life

Sorry if this has been mentioned already, but how about trying to connect/reconnect with old friends? People drift apart as life gets in the way sometimes, but if you can, try to reach out to some of your old pals. With the good friends it can pick up wherever you left off, even if there’s...

    ****ty life

Fair play to you for opening up. Easier said than done I know, but if you can’t change your situation…then change yourself. As others have said, get outside or find something new to do. There’s lots of things that go on that you can join in with, getting there for the first time and going...

    Which hangers should I use?

Ps - the top pick was taken when the timbers were loose - it’s not wonky now :)

    Which hangers should I use?

Hi team, I’ve fitted my roof for my garage with will have a vaulted ceiling. I’m not sure if there’s a particular hanger that is recommended for rather end? I have some High Wind Ties like the attached Or is there something better you’d recommend? Thanks Andy

    utility room

That looks really smart - wish I had a utility room that big! How difficult was the herring bone floor? I like the look but fear it could be a pain to lay nicely! Yours looks great.

Slow going - my double storey extension build

Wow, the time seems to be flying by again! 6 weeks on and time for another update. Summer has been busy with holidays, friends visiting and other social things so to be honest I've not made a huge amount of progress...but to be honest (again) after the extension build which ate up a lot of my...

    Garden wall footings in sand

Thanks for the feedback guys. Think I'll dig down a bit and then go wide and under the path a bit to get a decent spread :giggle:

    Garden wall footings in sand

I plan to build a double-skinned garden wall that will be around 80cm above ground level - basically high enough to discourage dogs from running onto our garden and to deter kids from walking on it. Below top-soil the ground is really just sand (as we're near the dunes at the beach). Some...

What have you been doing today?

We have the same with my step-father. He’s not as far along and Mrs Motties’ mum, but you can see the downward trend. My mum is basically his full time carer now. Like you say, the only consolation is that he’s blissfully unaware of it all.

    Dash Cam recommendation

The app is fine for what it is. You hardly use it to be honest, just once in a blue moon to download a video. It’s easy enough to use and does what you need.

    Dash Cam recommendation

Late to the party, but I have Blackvues in all of my cars. Mostly front and rear too. Excellent camera - set and forget, and discreet with no unsightly screen.

Jobs you wish you had never started

Got to love a good trench... did you dig it all with that little shovel?! :) Sorry to be 'that' guy, but I'd suggest you turn off the inside tap during the winter months as your pipe isn't buried very deep (regs want 750mm down for water) so there's a chance it could freeze/burst.
