    No heating or hot water

    Everything was working fine this morning. Now the heating and hot water arent working at all. The 3 way valve seems to be working ok but the boiler doesnt kick in and the pump is red hot but doesnt seem to be pumping. Any help appreciated.

    Sealing a fire surround

    I have recently bought a new surround. I have built up the surround as instructions say and the back panel is not flush with the back of the surround. It sits inside 1". I always thought the back panel had to be sealed to the wall. This one is a mile away. Thanks

    Depends on what type of fire you want to put in. Ive just fitted a 16" inset gas fire in my house and needed to open the brickwork to 300 mm deep, 560 mm high and 410 mm wide.

    We have one very similar on our fire at the mo. It is a valve. Underneath the screw we have another one that when turned shuts off the gas. Hope this helps

    Hi. The black covering on the fire above the coals is starting to come off and reveal a white powdery material underneath. Is there some sort of paint I can use to cover the white bit? Or should I be looking at getting a new fire? Thanks

    Three Way Valve problem

    Our central heating pipes are 8mm microbore and a feed pipe into one of the radiators was blocked with what looked like a lump of gravel. I had to cut the pipe and rod it out. Thanks for the tip about the valve but it seems to have cured itself. Clink

    The pipes are either 10mm or 8mm. Can I drain the upstairs central heating from the drain cock on the bottom of the boiler and then let it refill from the header tank in the loft?
