So, you like the monarchy but have no idea what powers they have and the influence they make use of. It really is just about the bunting for you.

They are a fundamental part of our government. In a perfect world you'd think about that more than how much you like putting up bunting before having an opinion.

They have unfair, unearned and opaque access to the PM and wider government. The level and type of access they have would be a government ending scandal for anyone except the royal family. And the only reason they have that power is because that's how we've always done things. That's not good...

So you like them because they're an excuse for a party. And that's why they should be treated specially in law.

They're parasites on the public purse and a corruption of the democratic process.

Is anyone planning for them to be exiled? They can just be cut out of any role in government and be subject to the same laws as the rest of us.
