Can you buy ready made insulated walls?

Shipping containers and insulated van/lorry bodies are 2 different things. The fridge bodies tend to be very cheap, they don't really have a scrap value. They're basically built out of insulation, with a skin of aluminium inside and out. I was semi joking when I put the links up, but I do have...

    Wet Windows

We're in an old stone house, with very little insulation (~one day!). We kinda have 2 "modes" 6months at a time, summer mode is windows open 24/7, no heating. Winter mode is windows closed to preserve heat, but a dehumidifier running. Main heating is a woodburner which is a very dry heat. Have a...

Stihl MSA 70 C-B Cordless Chainsaw

Sounds like a blunt chain. You've probably hit stone/metal/soil. When at college as a teenager we were taught how to sharpen a chain long before how to use the saw. Not my pic, sharp chain vs badly damaged chain. It should be razor sharp, sharp enough to cut your finger - without the saw being...

How is water getting in shed ?

It looks like it is the "ledge" that is holding the water back so I would get shot of that and maybe replace with 2 vertical modesty blocks per pane (or something similar) with a screw through the middle. If enough space, first tuck a length of dpc up behind the glass, just to help the water...

    Honda umk435e pruning blade?

You don't want to use it for trimming branches, with a blade it's a brushcutter, for cutting woody stuff around ground level

    Honda umk435e pruning blade?

Have you got a local Honda dealer? They would sell you the pack with the nut/washers etc. It would normally come with the strimmer when new. What are you wanting to cut with the blade?

Faded worn road markings and cats eyes.

These ones have done well, it's a closed road that was bypassed in the early 80s, so the paint must be 40+ years old...

Faded worn road markings and cats eyes.

There's clearly a choice of different materials (at different prices!) They last year re done the markings on trunks roads locally, the new ones are textured for extra pleasure - like mini rumble strips

Faded worn road markings and cats eyes.

There's a rural junction locally that had solar LED road studs (catseyes) installed, a good few years ago. Amazingly, most of them are still working, atleast 95% I would say. They come on at dusk and I've seen them running well into the small hours. If you walk or cycle past the place really...

Best way to cut this material - Sign board

Here's a 1.2m long cut in a dibond/composite sign material with a battery grinder and slitting disc. Dirty from lying in an outbuilding for a year, but a nice clean cut, not melted

Best way to cut this material - Sign board

What discs are you using? As I say I've cut plenty with the slitting discs (probably on the battery grinder), it goes straight through it like a hot knife through butter

Best way to cut this material - Sign board

I've cut it plenty of times using a slitting disc on the grinder then a rub with a file afterwards

Water pooling under wooden drainer and leaking onto wooden floor

Speaking from past experience, no moped in the house, especially not if you have an oak floor, or a woman.

    Honda umk435e pruning blade?

So are you missing the nut/washer etc? When new it would come with all the bits, including a 3 prong blade

    Honda umk435e pruning blade?

I used to have the Honda 35cc strimmer, it was just the standard size of blade 1"/25.4mm Most blades will be 25.4mm, with a washer if you need 20mm

    Soakaway Question

If you've got a digger on site anyway, might be best to just dig a hole, chuck the pipe and some stone in. Cheaper than a phonecall to the solicitors?

I've used them once or twice, they had good prices on the products but had a steep delivery surcharge to the Highlands, so were more of a last resort supplier
