Thanks for your replies everyone. I have a lot to think about. Has anyone used or heard of Combi Storage boilers....from what I understand they are combi boilers but with a bigger storage tank so would hold more hot water? I was looking at those and wondered if that would be an option.

I'd be more tempted in invesing in a CCTV camera by the door and setting motion alerts.

I'l rephrase what I meant. As long as the user has his DVR/NVR hooked up to a router, they can access it from any device on their network. This makes it a lot easier to access. If not got it hooked up to your network youl have to go to the device itself.

No it does not connect the same. Both would have HDMI outputs which will allow you to see it on a TV as you are currently doing so. And as you state you can control it by plugging a mouse in. IP Systems connect to your router and you can then login to the NVR from a computer on your network...

Is it an IP CCTV system as you sould be able to access the NVR and all its settings via a web browser as long as it is on the same network.
