If rads are rusting inside, can anything be done?

It's been powerflushed twice - and all rads off and flushed as well less than a month ago + inhibitor - but the hex is blocked again.

If rads are rusting inside, can anything be done?

Nothing is stopping the dirt, loads still getting through. Getting back to my original point, if somehow I can prevent crap reaching the hex, will the rads continue to erode once refilled and inhibitor added?

If rads are rusting inside, can anything be done?

Is it definitely a filter? If it's upside down it can't be doing much. It looks too small and thought it was a just a filling point for inhibitor etc. The TF1 is attracting debris, but loads are still getting through.

If rads are rusting inside, can anything be done?

Would it work better than what is there at present?

Sorry, you mean the thing above the red valve tap? That's been there from the start, didn't think it was a filter and never be touched I believe. If I replaced it with a Spirotrap, would that work? Uploaded with ImageShack.us

If rads are rusting inside, can anything be done?

I thought that was just a valve? It doesn't look big enough to be a filter, ie a Spirotrap.

Tony - is the gauze filter you refer to the TF1? How is it not fitted correctly?

If rads are rusting inside, can anything be done?

Your messages are prompting me to look further into the history of the system. Please bare in mind, it has been let for four years so this may be a pit patchy. At some point I know the original filling valve attached to the boiler was left on continuously because of the leak. How long for, I...

If rads are rusting inside, can anything be done?

Sediment is like black particles, magnatite I guess. Rads are Acova ones, 7 years old, plus 2 in the attic that are very old, and a bathroom towel rad replaced last month. Leak was diagnosed as a pipe running to a rad under concrete floor, so this was capped off. It's a sealed system.

If rads are rusting inside, can anything be done?

Please see my other posts for my predicament. My 7-year-old system keep failing, the hex is continually getting blocked up. There is a chance in the past the system was running without inhibitor. Also an ongoing leak was letting air into the system for months, if not years. Been told the...

    Confusing problems with heating system

I've been at the house on and off for the past few weeks. Been cleaning the mag filter regularly after taking off all the rads and flushing them through thoroughly. Today been told hot water is playing up - no doubt the heat exchanger is blocked again. I am at my wits end with this. Where is...
