    My home automation

One thing I'd say is I'm OCD and would want it looking tidier! Where is it located in the house, in the basement? Do you find it gets warm in there?

    Myson 322 possible problem?

Is the boiler locked out? Press reset button on it. How stiff is the valve spindle, do you need pliers to turn it? If so then it might be coated in rust (see one of my profile pics). If this is the case the actuator may be prone to burning out aftert some time.

    Radiator near thermostat

What TRV do you have? I have same scenario with a Myson TRV. Myson TRVs have two metal tabs around the underside of the head that can be moved and slotted in to set the head between to tolerances. I set the min tab to the max so the head can't be moved at all.

    Spirotech Filter

I fitted an MB3 two years ago after a system clean out. Since then I've taken out one litre on each anniversary of the system clean: first sample had particles 1cm deep (in a 2 litre bottle) and following year less than half centimetre. Maintain the correct level of inhibitor the amount of...

    Panasonic Remote Control Problem

Panasonic TV controller (N2QAYB000504) is suddenly behaving in an odd way. Power button works, channel 3 button works, volume and channel up/down button are all wrong, they scroll through current channel information. I've changed the batteries and tested the remote with smart phone to see the...

Please help! My boiler sounds like its going to explode!

"..., was serviced a couple of years ago." Is it a legal requirement that a landlord should service a tenant's boiler once a year?

    Replacement Potterton Suprima 30

Keep it. I have the same boiler and its been going strong for over 18 years and the only problem is the well known lock-out issue, resolved by getting your gas safe engineer to fit the improved PCB. This fix alone is worth it compared to a new boiler.

Trying to replace Roca dual flush rubber washer

I'm trying to get the white end piece off this Roca toilet flush assembly. Is it supposed to click off or twist off? Either way it won't budge! Btw I removed the leaking rubber wasjer already by cutting it, I thought it might help in getting a grip...

Replacement water meter - and now I have problems

I ran the cold tap at full blast for 10 seconds and amount of crud that came out was alarming. Forgot the hose had a filter. I took it off and it was 90% blocked, things looking ok now.

Replacement water meter - and now I have problems

A faulty water meter was replaced yesterday and today I noticed the washing machine is filling very slowly, I saw some specs in the washing machine conditioning drawer and the kitchen tap is dripping when fully closed. I've put two and two together and believe some crap has gone in to the...

What to use to fill the gap?

Waterproof ply (6mm) tiled over with mosaic tiles may work.

Potterton Suprima going on and off

True but getting your gas man to replace with upgrade PCB (part number 5111603) will resolve this and add many more years to the boiler's life. OP's original description sounds like normal behaviour.

Air Vent Cap top cylinder coil

When refilling you can always try back-filling from the drain-cock (water filled hose connected to the drain-cock and forcing air out as it fills). You need someone in the loft to check the level in the F&E tank as you do this though!

Air Vent Cap top cylinder coil

Yes, it releases air from the HWC side. I have a combined F&E pipe too (22mm), never had any issues apart from once having trouble removing air from the HWC side. Over a week the air eventually goes but can be helped by rocking the flow by changing the pump speed up and down every few seconds.
