Seeking advice before I take action on this dodgy shed installation

can you take a picture at the doorway with the door open showing the about 90-100mm finished concrete to finished floor level ?? i also assume the fixings[nail or screws] are only at 600mm centres and thats the joist spacings ?? also worth checking if the bounce is through dipping rather than...

Solar panels instead of a roof

Suggest even basic research online will help you answer this question in my opinion, if you have to ask this question you have done zero research ??

    Shed build advice

general comments for future reference in a clad unpainted plank style shed in general the top will overhang all round a gutter is preferable so the water off the roof cannot bounce/splash/get onto the structure surface or underneath the walls and door should start protected at or near the roof...

    Shed build advice

it doesnt really matter how you do it as long as the end off the felt is say 12mm clear off the timber to shed the water or the felt has to fold under and go uphill so the water drips off the low point

    Decking protection

on a more practical note what ever height your decking is will detract from your permitted allowance for the summer house as in total permitted 2500mm decking at say 250mm your now restricted to 2250 on your summer house

    Shed build advice

general comments quite impressive the felt at the front should form some sort off drip clear off the doors and internal timbers as it is the water will tend to hang under the timber above the doors as it tracks round the felt as there is no place to fall off what would help is say a 19x38mm or...

Replace a fixed timber post / porch support

i would say what ever you do i would think about either introducing drain holes in the metal or even making sure the gap is filled even with a slight taper off something like decorators caulk so the dropping water is diverted down the outside rather than getting trapped internally between wood...

How to reduce old floorboards to 50mm wide - table saw vs. bandsaw etc.

other thoughts iff they are tongue and groove planks you may with the use off an undamaged plank be able to pair as long as you have at least 2 points on the tongue or groove to give parallel support to pass over a table saw but you would probably be cutting the inner edge off the damaged plank...

How to reduce old floorboards to 50mm wide - table saw vs. bandsaw etc.

i have all the mentioned saws as in jig/band/track/circ/table and by default i use the table saw but as said by others you need a strait edge on at least one side if i had a specific job in mind i would reduce the planks to the length required with a say 20mm margin this makes the job much...

    Quality of timber

7x2 is the preworked stock size if its quoted in inches you need to reduce the size the machining will take off rough guide 1"= 21.5mm 2"=43mm 3"=69mm 4"=94mm 5" =119mm 6"=143mm 7"169mm you should always ask "what is the actual size" you should always measure the actual size a few inches...

Kitchen units - turning into open cupboards - best way to fill / cover holes?

another one for white board on the sides but just be aware if you want to fit a shelve with the 5mm shelve pins you must remove the say 3mm cladding thickness from the shelve length on one or both ends iff panelled both sides other options is fit the shelves first then clad between shelves...

    Insurance for planning refusal

a general guess if someone would take on the "bet" the odds would probably be perhaps 50/50 chance off approval so a margin off say 20% for profit so your cover would be 2500 plus 20% plus vat so perhaps £3600 if you can find someone interested which i doubt now they may deem the risk to be...

    Neighbour's new summerhouse

i wonder iff simply fully enclosing the handrail section and adding windows above with full double door all off which can be swung fully to 90% would then comply fully as no raised platform as its part off the internal floor and not a veranda as fully enclosed ??? just a though as a raised...
