Alarm outputs into home automation systems

I've done what you describe. I have a Honeywell Galaxy alarm (GD-96 I think, something like that anyway, might be a 264, but that doesn't matter) All the Galaxy alarms have an RS485 backbone that distributes data to and from the alarm and keypads and remote expansion units (RIOs) You...

    Shotgun conduit with integral CPC

Hi, Has anyone seen this before? I'm rewiring a load of retirement flats (not the flats themselves, but their supplies - which were previously on one huge shared 3 phase metering scheme) in the process of dragging in loads of SWA sub mains for the individual supplies and liaising with...

    16mm T&E for external building

16mm 2 core SWA is about £3.60 a metre, you aren't going to save much money messing around with T&e or tails in conduit, plastic pipe or clipped exposed. Not my money, but if it were me, it'd be SWA all day long. Do it properly you won't regret it.

    induction hob wiring

Diversity is a funny thing. It still doesn't seem 'right' to me, but to each their own. During the interim period where I was fitting our kitchen, but hadn't quite done it all 'properly'….ahem! We had the induction hob (6-7kw) two single ovens (one with microwave) kitchen sockets, washing...

    Wireless RS485 transmission

Also Rs485 to rs232 converters and even rs485 to Ethernet (ip) are available. Might be an option to convert to a more commonly used protocol and then transmit that wirelessly?

    'Upgrade'?

I recently upgraded from a 1/4 to 1/2 router. I've never broke a router cutter in the last 8 years, but I just broke two Trend 5mm straight cutters in the space of half hour!!! I'm cutting 18mm good quality marine ply, but I had cut the same with the old 1/4 with no problems. Am I...

    Alarm status traffic lights

Just wandered to the local, past two banks and they both have these panels on show through the front window. So, surely they can be purchased from somewhere!
