Washing machine in bathroom - outside zone 2

Maybe make sure the cable has to go up to reach the back of the fused spur. Just to make sure. Then I could replace the ceiling, because 30yrs of having a washing machine in the room above has completely shafted it..

Washing machine in bathroom - outside zone 2

What do the most recent regs say about washing machines in bathrooms? My (2.5m x 2.1m) ground floor bathroom and 1st floor kitchen need rearranging: obviously, the washing machine really needs to be in the bathroom (below the kitchen). The 2 main trips on the CU are RCD protected. Thank you...

Washing machine spur off central heating boiler supply in a bathroom?

Slight zoning issues: Bath protrudes 10mm under central heating boiler. Original ceilng light was only just outside footprint of bath, in plan. Olde worlde fuse box was far right top corner. Had to block up old doorway to accommodate new bath position (will rotate 90°, behind new blockwork)...

Washing machine spur off central heating boiler supply in a bathroom?

The spark that fitted the CU wrote "Boiler" under the "Ring 1" switch text, so it's a 240v supply. The copper inner of the the red live is 1mm dia. Would it be ok to split this, add another fused spur (like the central heating boiler supply)? Dain

Chocbox - do I need to provide access?

The 221 are more compact than the 222, much easier to fit in the wagobox.

Chocbox - do I need to provide access?

I have a basic installation box from Screwfix, with a selection of 222 224 773. I'll probably go with the 222.

    Bathroom light move

I have a certain amount of temp. access. I think I'll just use a Wago box so that inspection access need not be provided, and shunt the new light over to a joist that's compliant with zoning regs (over 600 from bath edge). There will also be a permanent bath shower screen so I think it's all...

Chocbox - do I need to provide access?

That opens the options up. Does it make any difference if push fit connectors are used, or do I need to use lever connectors?

Chocbox - do I need to provide access?

When extending cables in the ceiling, with a connector block inside a chocbox, do I have to leave access to this new junction? Thank you Dain

    Positioning of pull cord switch

There's either a sink or a bath either side of the bathroom door. Could I put a pull cord switch above the sink? Thank you Dain

    Bathroom light move

A cluster of 3 led lights, it's good because the bathroom gets very little natural light. But it's zonally conflicted in plan, being sited just outside the outer edge of the bath/shower It could do with going between the the next pair of joists but this would require extending the cables...

Tiling over vinyl paint? Min. prep required?

Rendered and skimmed wall, vinyl paint. What is the vest prep? It doesn't seem like a good surface to tile, maybe a good scoring with el diablo or a plasterers roughing out saw? Maybe bolster the skim off? What's the usual way to proceed? Thank you Dain

Stainless hex masonry screws - where can I find some?

It's more to stop it springing up adjacent to where any significant weight might be applied, that's why I wanted the threaded option.

Stainless hex masonry screws - where can I find some?

In the UK, that is. Easily available in the US and Oz but I can't find the right search terminology to source any in the UK.. To fix sub floor cls, on membrane, to conc. base. I sealed with Sikka rapid dpm and will completely cover with membrane too. Thank you. Dain
