    Edge trim for click vinyl

Thank you, That isn't screed, it's the conc. base of an old carport that had a bedroom above it. I just glazed the entrance to the carport. There isn't the headroom to bring it higher with screed. I gave it 2 good coats of Sikha rapid dpm. The ply will be raised up, above the conc. base. I...

    Edge trim for click vinyl

Am putting in 18mm ply with 8mm click vinyl surface, looking for an 8mm edge trim to go along the btm of this sliding door, just under the window frame btm, it's a bit tight for clearance at the right hand end but gets better to the left. Reveal is 2525 skim to skim. There is a 2.5m Dial 8mm...

Membrane over Sikha Rapid DPM? Should I bother?

A gallon of Sikha, spread in 2 coats (5x4m room). Regs told me to run a membrane along the base of and up the inside of the blockwork wall before the stud went on. Am putting down a CLS plus 18mm ply substrate, then 8mm click vinyl. Do I really need to continue the membrane across the whole...

    Height of mirror light?

What height would you generally have the 1.5mm tail sticking out of the plaster? What length tail should be ok? What are the considerations.. Thank you, Dain

    New aerial type?

    Just the one.

    New aerial type?

Altered the 28 element aerial by sitting it on a cardboard box so that the prongs are vertical, retuned. I have 97 signal strength & 100 picture quality. That seems to have cracked it. Thank you.

    New aerial type?

I have the disconnected old coax tucked up behind the facia board. It seems to do the job in good weather. It's got a fine twisted core with a close woven copper mesh outer, inside the insulation. I put this aerial in the loft, with new coax (solid core/woven mesh + copper foil outer). Works...

    New aerial type?

Do I need to have an outdoor aerial if my signal comes from a booster station?

    New aerial type?

When I removed the little screws securing the copper inner & outer to the aerial, the threads were coroded; steel/galv screws in aluminium, the surrounding alluminium threaded hole would be shot too, presumably. I tried a new small aerial in the loft but no signal.

    New aerial type?

I lost the signal from my 30yr old aerial, it was pointed straight at a booster station a few km off. I turned the tv on to see what gives whilst I tinker with the aerial; when I disconnected the coax from the aerial the visual/audio returned? But the signal vanished when I reconnected to the...

Electric heated tower rad, fused spur outside zone 2 etc

Does the rad FCU have to be supplied from the socket? What about both FCUs in the bathroom, switched/flex outlet or otherwise. Take the existing old code drop to the WM FCU, continue (load) down, to (original) dbl socket feed hole thru wall, plus another (load) off left to rad FCU? Indicated...

Pass thru wall plate? for washing machine cable

I'm arranging a washing machine cable to exit a bathroom, thru an interior brick wall, to a FCU on the far side. Outside zone 2. Is there a 'pass tru' wall plate available for the bathroom side, maybe with a single gang back box, to tidy it up. Rather than just having the washing machine cable...

Electric heated tower rad, fused spur outside zone 2 etc

Thank you, Does the rad FCU have to be sited where it's supply emerges in the bathroom or can it be sited horiz to that, to have it on the yellow wall, below proposed rad?

Electric heated tower rad, fused spur outside zone 2 etc

I was thinking of teeing the additional bathroom spur into the old school cable where I chalked a backbox on the wall? It drops from the kitchen above. The circuit is "Ring main 1/Boiler" in the CU - the only 240v circuit until I added an extension. Old school cable has no text on the outer...

Electric heated tower rad, fused spur outside zone 2 etc

Thank you but I'm mostly interested in what arrangement would be usual and safe to achieve the extra spur, who does it is of less interest. That 240v drop inside the bathroom supplies the dbl socket/new spur on the hallway side of the wall. The circled hole goes to the hallway spur. I'm just...

Washing machine in bathroom - outside zone 2

That's why the WM fused spur is outside the bathroom. With the cable access hole sloping at 20° upwards out of the bathroom.

Electric heated tower rad, fused spur outside zone 2 etc

Bathroom being replaced/rearranged. Washing machine going in bathroom corner via new spur in hall, with upward sloping hole up to new spur backbox. Is it ok to Wago a junction in a 16mm blanked off galvanised backbox, to run a switched fused suppy for the towel rad off to the left (1000 height...
