    Brown UPVC - any problems

Dark foiled PVCu (mahogany/Rosewood) is only ever foiled on white profile if specifically requested. It is normally on a dark brown profile. Golden oak foil is also foiled onto Caramel PVCu, so there is no issue there. Aside from that, It is 'extremely unlikely' that under normal service...

    Kitchen Nightmare

There are normally just a few screws securing the bottom of the fridge to the base of the unit and a couple either side between the the two doors. The ones in the middle tend to be covered by some kind of cover which you may need to remove. Once you have unscrewed all these you should be able...

    has anyone heard of eurocell?

Mw, that is correct. We supply the PVCu window profile in 6m lengths to our fabricators. They then fabricate the windows to the standard we stipulate in our fabrication manual. We sell the steel/aluminium reinforcing also, however, the fabricator could choose to buy 'cheaper' steel from elsewhere.

    fitting glass

This is a bit of a contentious (spelling??) area. The tape is only there to aid handling and forms no sealing whatsoever. The 2 part or butyl sealant is what prevents any moisture ingress. The tape, you will notice is a fabric type tape which if comes in contact with moisture, will retain the...

    New Windows

I don't like change.....   I hope you get a lovely warm feeling inside from the fact your 130 year old single glazed draughty windows don't need replacing, whilst you're boiler is working overtime to replace the lost heat through said windows thus emitting large quantities of...

Can you fit replacement windows from the inside?

If a property is rendered on the outside it is sometimes better to 'make good' on the inside rather than damaging the render on the outside.

K glass misting up on the outside

External condensation (dew) can occasionally occur on highly insulating glass units in temperate climates. Such occurrences will only happen on cloud-free nights when there is little or no wind and usually when a warm front follows a dry spell. The combination of several factors, namely...

New Windows for front of house

Personally, I wouldn't touch Anglian with a barge pole! but that's just me! You get the impression of a big national company, but in essence they are cowboys operating under the Anglian banner, again, my opinion.

Hardie backer board on Floor ?

Apologies, i must admit when i re-read it again i thought.....oops  Sorry, I will let you know. So far its been down for about 4 weeks and despite my 2 1/2 year old sons continual jumping on it, no problems at all. I would be more concerned had i not used a quality flexible adhesive...

Hardie backer board on Floor ?

I've just used 'no more ply' which is the same sort of thing and i was really impressed, it's extremely rigid for saying it is only 6mm thick. I screwed all boards down first (where neccessary) then pinkgripped the boards to the floor and screwed them down at about 300mm crs. Fixed the tiles...
