    high pressure

It's not a back boiler, it's a combi boiler. If you want to fill it to 1 bar, stop filling it when you get to 1 bar. If you continue filling the pressure will continue rising. If the pressure rises to 3 bar very quickly then you probably have an expansion vessel problem (see FAQs).

That's not a very nice thing to say about our Hailsham!

PTFE or fibre washer on a cylinder?

I thought it was Plumbers' Tape For Everything. Actually the point about washers versus thread sealant is to do with whether the threads are parallel or tapered. Two parallel threads (as on immersion heaters and their bosses) will never lock together and so they act like compression...

Are you sure about that? After the Cwmbran CO incident they have a bit of an image problem.

Fan Assy for Worcester Bosch Heat System 9.24 Electronic

If you Google on CET boilers you'll find them.

    Worcester heatslave 9.24 gas valve

From your description it sounds like the gas valve letting by. No other explanation for gas seeping through to the burners when there's no call for heat. Expensive repair though. It's an old boiler so you should ask yourself if it's worth trying to keep it going.

    vokera 20-80 rs flowmatic boiler

A new fan will cost you maybe £140 + fitting (unless you find a nice engineer like me who'll repair it with a bearing off another old fan, or get a reconditioned one for £50). Probably time to think about getting it replaced. These are pretty old boilers now and although they can be kept going...

    Flexible Shower Pump Hoses

You could probably make the connections direct with plastic pipe since it will have enough give not to pick up the vibrations of the pump. What happened to the flexible hoses that came with the pump?

    vokera 20-80 rs flowmatic boiler

The expansion vessel has probably failed. You could have a new one fitted externally for much less cost than replacing the one that's part of the boiler (at the back). As for the noise, what is making the noise - the fan?

myson apollo 30/50b pilot will not stay lit

Probably a failed thermocouple. Not really a DIY job since it involves the gas side of the boiler, but shouldn't be too expensive a job if that's all that's wrong - maybe £50?

    Changing room showers

I think you'd find off-peak electricity (Economy 7 or 10) a much better option than LPG. Much lower capital cost (no heaters other than immersion heaters) and lower maintenance costs (no gas safety issues) and lower running costs. You'd need to ensure that you had sufficient storage for the peak...

    apologise to gasguru

But it's never too late to learn! :D Already you're doing a whole lot better. I could actually understand that. You managed a capital letter at the front, so you can do it. All we need now is a full stop (next key to the right of the comma), maybe at the end? Like this? -

    Worcester heatslave 9.24 gas valve

Only competent people like us RGIs should be playing around with gas valves. You could easily cause a serious incident if you don't know exactly what you're doing, which you plainly don't. Best to call in a gas boiler engineer.

15mm pushfit to 15mm male thread

15mm compression threads are exactly the same as ½" male threads. That is what we have been trying to tell you. Do you not think we might know a thing or two after decades of plumbing work?

Zimmers, it's not really that difficult. Just look at the way most of the other posts are written. Start your sentences with a capital letter and finish them with a full stop. If you're asking a question, use a question mark - ? Commas are only used to separate different parts of a sentence...

Does my central heating cycle on and off too quickly?

So is there a problem? If the hall stat is shutting off before the rest of the house has had a chance to get up to temp then you can either turn the hall stat up or restrict the flow through the hall rad so it takes longer to get hot (or both). You can even turn the hall rad off completely if...

leaking rad leading to leaking boiler and loss of pressure

15mm flow/return straight out of boiler

Well researched Tony and Hailsham. I also thought there was something odd about her line of questioning and manner.
