    Cowboy Customers - ITV1 10.35pm

The bill was £15k and the customer had no means to pay. The £15k was for a conservatory and porch.

    That 9/11 programme last night

Back on topic for a second. I stumbled into the programme 10 minutes in and was utterly glued. I thought the lack of narration and just tying the time line together with numerous video and audio clips was superb. I was completely transfixed. Listening to the fire-fighters commentary was...

    Cowboy Customers - ITV1 10.35pm

I think this is the same fella Bahco. He started a website called http://roguecustomer.com/ . He was on 5live radio this morning and came across very well. Some of the ways people were recovery debts was priceless. Including a 'rent-a-tramp' service where you can hire someone who plays a...

    Cowboy Customers - ITV1 10.35pm

I heard the creator of this show on the radio today. The guy had fitted a 15k conservatory and the customer refused to pay thus forcing him into bankruptcy. I never had a debtor issue when I was trading, but it may be of interest to some of you. There was some good advice on how to deal with...

Jack Tweed in court on rape charges

I'd be amazed if this is true. It wouldn't surprise me at all if it emerged that the lady in question was doing this for financial gain. And before you all get excited I think Tweedy is a plank of the highest order, but from what I have read and listened to recently there is an increase in...

Mains leak in my back garden - Who pays ?

Just an update to this one. The leak was on the main line that supplies mine and two other cottages. The main just happens to run under my back garden. The leak is chargeable nonetheless, but Dee Valley Water run a subsidised repair scheme that means they pay the first £220 towards the cost of...

    Lawnmower

I have to agree with the Hayter recommendation. My old fella had one for years and paid £550 for it brand new. When he passed away I ebayed it and got £350 for it! So people obviously recognise quality. Makes you wonder what I would have got for a 6 yr old flymo

    Hard sell tactics ????

This is classic hard sale tactics. They want both decision makers there so that you have one less 'get out' when they pressurise you into a sale. I don't buy the idea that they want you both there to discuss the plans at all. They want you both there to batter you into committing. All the usual...

Mains leak in my back garden - Who pays ?

Are you saying that is what the pipe could also be made out of Nige? Inspector is round tommorow morning from the Water Co. so I'm wanting to work damn hard on him to get him to cough up for the cost!

Mains leak in my back garden - Who pays ?

Hugh/Kirk, Thanks Fellas. Both good points that I'll bring up with the water co. when they eventually arrive.

Mains leak in my back garden - Who pays ?

Yeah that did occur to me. Subsidence being one of the concerns. The water is bubbling up to the surface and i have that routed all that down the sewer. It's how much isn't coming to the surface though, and is going underground. I can, but that would also knock the water out to my 2...

Mains leak in my back garden - Who pays ?

No, thank God. We are going through a fairly major financial meltdown at the moment, so unless they will fund the repair or I can fix it easily myself it will stay leaking until such time as I can afford to have it done. :(

Mains leak in my back garden - Who pays ?

Just found this. Looks hopeful. http://www.deevalleywater.co.uk/article.php?id=66 There are a few get out clauses (predictably) , but better than a straight s*d off! If it is my responsibility it will stay leaking I'm afraid. No money = no repair

Mains leak in my back garden - Who pays ?

Hi folks, In the last two hours a leak has been noticed in a raised flower bed in my rear garden. Basically it looks like a natural spring has developed and the water is obviously rising to the surface of the earth and bubbling away. Coincidentally my water co. are doing major repairs to...
