Roof beam - fire protection required?

It is 30min required in Scotland under 3 storeys. It's a copy and paste error, but how can I prove this to BC when she insisting on making the designer look like a **** making us protect it. In other words, where does it say beams in lofts are protected by the ceiling? Hugs for u woods there...

Roof beam - fire protection required?

hi, I have an approved building warrant and a BCO that is being particular about regs and sticking exactly to the drawings. She also doesn't get on with the guy who drew the plans and this is adding to the fuss it seems. Steel is installed in the attic and protected by the ceiling, but on...

Capacitor help - what do the numbers mean?

Its a copy of a Karcher made by einhell i believe for Aldi. Do you think they would have used the same capacitor? The CBB60 seemed to bring up a lot of similar looking caps, the 45/81/20 doesnt seem to relate to its dimensions or anything. I guess its worth a punt buying the karcher one and...

Whose fault? Crack in new shower tray

(I'm not a pro) If I was setting out the tiles I would have made the corner look better, the small cut isn't ideal. Have they siliconed the corner or grouted it? Did they tile off the tray or but it against a tile? What did they do in preparation to the wall before tiling? just a thought...

    Tool to enlarge drill hole?

When I did a similar beam in my house the same thing happened. It turns out to have the added bonus that stuff doesn't roll off onto the stove. I now call it an intentional feature... My beam also moved over time as the shakes opened up

    Paslode IM350 DIY service

Well i managed to get it apart and it cleaned up ok with brake cleaner. I was advised not to remove the muffler as it can cause problems with the reload mechanism. After lubing it, it feels better and fires fine :sneaky:

    Paslode IM350 DIY service

The pushrods and stem adaptor sit in the fan assembly and must do something with the gas can? They are easy to change so I bought them with origional o rings. The spark plug in my gun looks ok, but dirty. It is remarkably more dirty inside than I though it would be. Based on nothing I suppose...

Stihl BR 400 started to struggle and died after running fine

Could also be building back pressure in the fuel tank. If you open the tank and it fixes it for a while, the tank air inlet could be blocked Just a thought Graeme

Zinsser primers - do I also need undercoat?

Hi, I'm by no means an expert, but figure you may want to crack on with this. My experience with bin and 123 is to proceed to topcoat and I have had very good results with oil based satinwood on top of both. One could assume it's the same for cover stain and water based satinwood in the...

    McCulloch mh542p hedge trimmer - h adjustment

Hi, Was hoping someone could tell me how to adjust the h jet properly on a mculloch hedge trimmer. I have a tachometer, but I'm guessing at where to tune it to. Spec sheet says max torque at 8-9k rpm, but it's running really rich at this speed with throttle wide open. Where would it be safe...
