Here we go again.. Sealed system pressure loss when cold

Time to call in a fave from the bro in law methinks... quite handy with the spanners. Reckon we could smash this one out in a weekend.

Here we go again.. Sealed system pressure loss when cold

Thanks. I figured not necessary to isolate boiler as would be able to tell leak at cold. At full temp could have been the exchanger I guess but not cold. Having said that fitter apparently didn't fit isolation valves for the boiler? But then he didn't for anything else so guess shouldn't be...

Here we go again.. Sealed system pressure loss when cold

Ok. So, I've changed everything that might have been leaking, 3 way, pump and pump valves, pressure release valve. There are no visible leaks. System losing 1-1.5 bar a day, including today with everything off. Expansion vessel would cause over-pressure blow-off but not pressure loss when...

What size pressure vessel valve? RESOLVED

I pumped the pressure vessel up to 1.5 (1.75 to allow for some air to escape when I removed the pump). Is this too high, should I drop it down to 0.75-1.0? With the heating off system pressure dropped right down from 2.2 to 0.3. Filled it up to 1.0 and let some air out the shraeder valve...

What size pressure vessel valve? RESOLVED

No I don't think so, its got good pressure and no water leakage.. goes upstairs to check pressure isn't up again... Up 0.2 bar - @ 1.9. Reckon that's ok. Wouldn't normally have the heating on this much - just running a test. :P

What size pressure vessel valve? RESOLVED

Thanks Dan, ur the man. Was correct part. Just done today. A bit concerned may be a leak on restart as had to keep topping up while the ground floor rad loop cleared. Now pressure's a bit high at 2  Would my boiler have an air release valve? Suprima 50. Just wondering if that's...

What size pressure vessel valve? RESOLVED

Hi i want to replace the valve on the pressure vessel as i think its leaking, rather than the whole vessel and kit that i could probably get for the same price as just the valve off ebay but which may be rubbish and harder to fit.. . The store has the Caleffi 3 bar valve though in 1/2 or 3/4...

    Sealed system cylinder coil leak?

Everyone always says to change the gate valves because they'll leak, well the peglers I fitted 7 ish years ago didn't leak. I still couldn't get the pump out though because it had rusted to the top valve. Probably could have broken it off with a larger wrench but in the end had to drain the...

    Sealed system cylinder coil leak?

Gah, the pipes were minging, I thought it would never seal if I didn't clean it up :P Reckon now the pump is fooked. Got some x400 in at the mo -- rubbish new format, what's wrong with the tube in the gun method?? Nozzle for the bleed screw didn't even fit, had to put it in the feed loop...
