HW Valve came on this morning to cylinder so assumed to be due to it being on desired heat yesterday. Its running far higher to me, sounds higher and does sound like an "old boiler", i feel like i should wear a boiler suit and cap looking at it. Would a flush potentially help noise?

No doesn't lock out (to red), it just cycles. Next issue is Motor valve needs to be turned on manual for HW.

Its inconsistent. When i'm calling heat on HW the pump dosn't seem to come on (can't hear it like CH). Odd clunk here and there and then it works ok. I do not want this going over xmas so I might buy a new pump and not hope this problem goes away. What you think?

Being naive and skint, I spun the thing again and a bit more, now working fully again. Also, spoke to my sparks friend (fully positive spark) and he gave me rewire instructions for the pump, i'd got CH ON and HW on the wrong way on the Hive. Really not sure if this has cleared air out of the...

Ok, so turned it onto normal mode. Turn on at hive and it dosn't work, then the old thermo goes to 15 degrees, i up this to 20 odd and it works. Boiler seems to turn on and heat up for 5-10 mins then turn off with green flashing light (Suprima 50). Is this behaviour normal for the boiler?

Um, maybe it isn't GF then. When i try turning HW on alone from the HIVE (light comes on) the boiler doesn't turn on.

So how do i heat HW without turning on CH?

ok, so after getting help from @Echo the husky on wiring, i'm now all working with hive with the old thermo connected. Plumber i know says i've got a gravity fed system, so i've turned on the hive receiver to be GF mode. Got some issues i'm not sure about; 1. It all works ok for CH but HW...

Need to scrape off with scraper. Plasterers will take less time than you to scrape off but may not be as good as you doing it in the odd place because they'll go quickly!

um, spoke to soon, some weird behaviour going on with boiler it turns on when I press on the thermo button, but i need to reset the boiler. im now knackered so will look tomorrow.
