    Straightening Cupped Spruce Board

Thanks. I'll try clamping. It's not worth the effort of ripping and glueing.

    Straightening Cupped Spruce Board

Shelving, so it's useless cupped. I may have to discard it.

    Straightening Cupped Spruce Board

I bought some spruce boards, 180mm wide, 16mm deep. One was badly cupped but I've managed to flatten it by soaking it and placing a heavy weight on it. It looks fine now but how do I dry it to avoid it cupping or splitting?

    Wallpaper blown and peeling off

The Protimeter Mini is about £180, unless I'm looking at the wrong one. There are much cheaper ones around £20 though.

    Wallpaper blown and peeling off

The wallpaper is lifting in several places on the chimney breast, either side of the fireplace. The gas living flame fire is rarely used. There's no sign of mould or damp on the wall but there are few water stains on the paper like the one in this additional photo. I can't see a stain on the...

    Wallpaper blown and peeling off

Thanks. Two questions: 1. Best way to check for damp? 2. Best wallpaper paste for this? I should have said that the wallpaper appears to be fully stuck to the lining paper, if that makes any difference to the repair.

    Wallpaper blown and peeling off

Please see photos off wallpaper lifting away from a chimney breast wall of a friend's house. I'm not aware of any damp issues that might be causing this and the wallpaper has been up for several years. The whole area I've marked in red has lifted from the wall, including the lining paper. Is...

    600 Grit Sanding Block

Hi. Can someone send me a link to 600 grit sanding block or tell me where I can buy one? I can't find anything online. I just want to do a final sanding after the last coat on varnish on some shelves. There's a very faint roughness that I want to remove.

Why can I hear water running in shower drain?

This 'communal' plumbing is a pain. It's probably something I'll just have to put up with. The sound of water in the shower drain has been going all day.

Why can I hear water running in shower drain?

It's mine. I've got great neighbours and all have similar plumbing issues. The water rushing down the boxed in pipes can be heard every time the upstairs neighbours use their washing machine. The trickling water noise under the shower tray has been constant today. I don't know if it's worth...

Why can I hear water running in shower drain?

It's possible I suppose. It could even be from my boiler. It's in a cupboard in my bedroom.

Why can I hear water running in shower drain?

Why can I hear water running in shower drain when I'm not running water anywhere in my flat? I'm in a listed building that's been converted into 4 flats and, to be honest, I can hear water running in more than one place. I previously posted about hearing it under the kitchen sink but that...

Yes, that's exactly what I mentioned in an earlier post. I think it's a far better option
