    Nail through copper CH pipe

Just put a floorboard nail through a hot central heating water pipe. No big drama, just drained the system and no damage so all fine. In terms of fixing it, I assume its OK to cut the pipe either side of the nail hole and use a compression coupler to join the pipe back together?

Log cabin base on a sloping garden

The log cabin itself is circa 3.5m x 4.5m, I wanted a 5x4m base to have a little room around the bottom of the cabin. Still substantial weight though. I would have though concrete base was the way to go but the 4 quotes I've had for this work, 2 have said a raised timber frame would suffice...

Log cabin base on a sloping garden

Wanted to gauge opinions. I'm looking to erect a circa 5x4 metre log cabin in my garden. Its a 44mm interlocking cabin so it carries substantial weight. There is also a slight slope on the base area (approx 1ft from top to bottom) to slightly complicate matters. One option is raised...

    Raised decking plan

I’m building some raised decking on my garden to host a summer house. My garden has a slope so the decking does need to be raised. The summer house is quite large (5m x 4.5m) and will be heavy so I want to ensure I build a suitably heavy duty base. For the decking “stilts”, I’ll use 4”x4”...

Anyone know what type of underlay this is? Appears to be a type of loose fabric as opposed to rubber or felt.
