The right way to do roast beef.

+1 for the thermapen. A meat thermometer is the difference between average and excellent. I did a three rib of beef on the rotisserie on my bbq today. The satisfaction you get as the chef for cooking the food is huge when the food you’ve cooked is enjoyed.

    Small Sit On Lawn Mowers

Changed the starter motor this afternoon. The workshop manual is certainly more of a trail of clues than an actual manual! The mower now starts every time. When I mowed the lawn after changing the starter motor, I must have stopped and started it 20-25 times and it started without any...

Woman and Sex, means biological sex.

Probably. I was thinking more along the lines of if there is a general movement towards mixed sex toilets as a result of this ruling. Women would still suffer if men use the same toilets due to their generally poor aim.

Woman and Sex, means biological sex.

Plus men p!ss all over the place and its not fair to inflict that on women.

    Small Sit On Lawn Mowers

It actually struggles to turn over when its hot, been running for a while and had 2-3 starts. It'll turn over, but too slowly to start the engine and then it won't even turn over. Typically, when it happens leaving it for a minute or so results in it turning over faster and then starting. This...

    Small Sit On Lawn Mowers

Thread resurrection for accuracy. I was wrong when i thought that my mountfield 827H ride on mower doesn't have a charging system. It does. I've been trying to diagnose why my mower struggles to start when its hot. I think its the starter motor causing the problem when it gets hot and is...

    US tarrifs. 10% U.K., 20% EU.

Too soon to tell. JLR have just announced they’re pausing shipping to the USA so that will affect their investment plans which in turn will affect us, but no idea to what extent. It’s the uncertainty that will be the problem. People sitting on their hands waiting to see what happens will be a...

    US tarrifs. 10% U.K., 20% EU.

There will be significant downward price pressure on suppliers, irrespective of whether local suppliers can pick up the slack. As you say, the end product price to the end user is inevitably going to go up, which in turn will inevitably suppress demand which in turn means there will be downward...

    US tarrifs. 10% U.K., 20% EU.

In absolutist terms I agree that we don't pay the tariffs directly. But indirectly we do if we want to maintain sales by having to lower prices.

    US tarrifs. 10% U.K., 20% EU.

Doesn't work like that in reality though, does it. The importer pays, but if the price goes up so much the importer doesn't want to pay the increased effective price, the supplier has to cut their price to offset the tariff increase.

    Finding a hidden water leak

In which case, the ball valve would be opening to replace the lost water.

    Finding a hidden water leak

If it wasn't, there wouldn't be a leak anyway.

    Finding a hidden water leak

The leak would gradually increase water level in the central heating header tank and there would be no mechanism for the header tank to drain, other than via the overflow, which the OP said isn't overflowing. I think your scenario is unlikely to be the cause of this leak.

    Finding a hidden water leak

no leaks from the overflows on the header tanks though so even if there was a pin hole if its not over flowing the header tank then you're not losing water.

    Finding a hidden water leak

half a litre per hour is the equivalent of a drip every 2-3 seconds so unless you can hear the drip falling onto something you won't be able to hear the water movement in a pipe. I'd start by tracing all the pipework around the house to work out where it goes and then start looking for dampness...

What is the name of this tap part?

Its called a tap bonnet. Unless you know the exact make and model of the tap, you have next to zero chance of finding a replacement part, unfortunately. It will be much easier to change the taps.

    WOKE fine

I had a very heavy boat after the repair. I cut out the rotten areas in the original floor, patched with new ply and put a false floor in over the existing (sold as a set of repair panels). It was a fun dinghy for its time.
