Take the broken bar off the grey plastic clip, drill two holes in the grey plastic side parts where the bar broke off and replace the broken bar with a nail or similar through the drilled holes.

Solar panels - which electricity am I using?

It’s actually better than that. If you generate and use the electricity, you get paid 73p per kWh and you save the 20p per kWh you would be pay to buy that electricity if you didn’t have solar panels.

I would paint it with a vinyl emulsion and forget about it.

Solar panels - which electricity am I using?

the feed in tarriff gives you a payment for every KW you generate and use. If your FIT payment is 21p (which sounds more like your import rate rather than the feed in rate) per KW for every KW you generate use, you get paid that for generating and consuming your own energy plus the saving on the...

    Canadians boycotting American goods

The who,e point of tariffs is to change purchasing behaviour in more than one direction. Americans will change their behaviour, and other countries will too. It’s way too early to comment on the effects of the tariffs yet. One thing is for sure, the whole world is moving towards the right.

Looks like you have had some woodworm at some point and a water leak that has caused wet rot.

A Reform party in power would make NHS insurance based USA system

Agree 100% that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and just because i might not agree with it doesn't make it wrong for someone else to have a differing opinion. Going back to my other point, why is it so important that free healthcare is provided solely by the NHS and not private...

A Reform party in power would make NHS insurance based USA system

With the exception of a tax reduction on private healthcare, i don't see anything in there that splits healthcare into the haves and have nots any more that it already is. They explicitly say that 'services will always be free at the point of use'. As long as quality healthcare is provided in...

A Reform party in power would make NHS insurance based USA system

What do you think Reform want to do to the NHS? This is what it says on their website I don't translate that into the NHS being sold off. I translate that into allowing private care providers to supplement the NHS.

A Reform party in power would make NHS insurance based USA system

The NHS clearly isn't working in its current form, and just throwing more money at it isn't going to fix it. The current model doesn't work and is only going to get worse as the population ages and health technology continually improves, keeping people alive for longer at an ever increasing...

slate roofing issues noted in survey

The age of the property comment in the survey means the surveyor has done a bad cut and paste job. The rust visible on some of the slates means the slate have iron pyrite inclusions. They will rust through in time, leak, and need replacing. It indicates low grade slate. That would be enough for...

    Cracks in fresh skim

The facts that the crack joins up with the other wall would indicate movement in the wall or the plaster. Extra weight on old plaster causing it to detach? Does it sound solid still?

Fixing "hollow" section in engineered wooden floor which wasn't properly glued down

My holes were hidden behind kitchen units, but depending on the type of flooring you’ve got, I’m sure there would be ways of disguising the holes

Fixing "hollow" section in engineered wooden floor which wasn't properly glued down

I had a similar problem with engineered laminate where the floor wasn't flat enough. I was able to drill holes in the floor in areas that were going to be concealed by kitchen units and inject expanding foam which worked really well. But you need to create a number of holes to squirt it through...

    Inheritance tax ...

It needs ground up reform as well as money. The amount of waste, inefficiency and non medical related spending in the nhs is obscene.
