Flir thermal imaging underfloor heating temperature

The accuracy of a flir one wont be completely precise when trying to determine absolute values. It'll be very good at giving relative differences between areas (such as seeing where the pipes are), but the actual temperature number depends on its calibration, the emissivity of the surface, and...

Why should a Digistat sometimes only call for heat for 40 seconds?

Watch out, I've got a similar Drayton units and even that isn't a simple mechanical on off switch, there's electronics inside and even when the temp is below setpoint, it still cycles the boiler sometimes!

Wtf Dewalt Metal Chuck Rusting After 1st Use

I dont think that's acceptable on what looks like a decent drill. Unless you've been splashing it with sea water!?

Is this Black + Decker drill faulty?

That's just the screw that holds the chuck on, looks like its bent however that doesn't necessarily mean there's a problem, it may have been like that from new. It may have come loose and its hanging out from the threads, worth trying to tighten it back up with the right Torx bit.

    Battery charging GENIUS?

Just get 2 outlets and connect them up as they are connected now. ie 1 to each bank of batteries. If you try to connect multiple chargers together its likely that just one of them will take all the load, rather than charging at twice the rate, or some sort of internal protection will be triggered.

    Holes in Self levelling compound?

Holes are due to air bubbles. usually you can prevent that with a special roller used on the floor when its wet. I've got the same in my garage however it doesn't really affect anything, especially if flooring is going over that.

Correct Size Air Vent Cover - Millimetres too Big.

A straight coupler piece should be able to fit over the existing pipe, and therefore over the cowl as well?

    Soundproofing workshop

A mitre saw with an induction motor is far quieter and may be a solution, however they are only fitted on the high end expensive machines and are much heavier too.

    150metre supply to outbuilding

I think it'll work, as we have similar feeding some portacabins at work for years without trouble, although its pretty ugly, not the sort of thing i'd want to see running down my garden!

    Self levelling compound maths check

Was covering a rough tamped concrete base, which was pretty level, just not very flat and a few dips in places. Sorry I can't remember how many bags, but I bought more than needed and returned the left over!

    Self levelling compound maths check

I managed to do 6 X 4 M on my own, that was mixing in a dustbin with a paddle mixer and a lot of stress but its possible! Had buckets of water all measured out etc so could go straight into the next mix. It doesn't really completely self level itself, you need to push it around with something...

Floor-standing fan seized up - is this a bearing & is it replaceable?

If you've got it spinning again, I'd just clean it up, grease and keep using!

    Stuck screws

If there's room to swing a hammer, I think you could snap the head off with a bolster. With the head gone, you should be able to pry the wood up without too much damage.

Turn off gas to Greenstar Ri ERP+ boiler

I'd just turn the boiler off, but leave the timer on so it doesn't lose the time, settings etc. It wont fault if switched off, although even if it does, its easy enough to reset the alarm and restart.

How to move a big stone

Thats going to be heavier than you expect, 400kg sounds believeable. I've been caught out before by a large sheet of steel, once it starts tipping all you can do is get out the way.

Video doorbell - connecting power to CU

1mm or larger, ie same as the lighting circuit your connecting to. I wouldn't expect to have interference problems on that.

tpi 368 infra.red pocket thermometer accuracy

If you put black electrical tape on the pipe etc your measuring, and read off the tape that will bring the emissivity to nearer what the thermometer will be expecting and you'll get a more accurate reading. 3M actually give the spec for their tapes so I use that.

What kind of metal to repair cracked headphone band?

Steel would be the best choice out of commonly available metals, however I suspect that normal steel sheet wont have enough spring in it, and when you open the headphones to put them on, you will take a lot of the shape out and still lose pressure. What about harvesting the band from some other...
