    Sealed system cylinder coil leak?

So far so good but an effin pain to rebalance having refilled... and cutting the old olives off those short bits of pipe was a total PITA. Let's see if the system is still above 1 bar in the morning...

    Sealed system cylinder coil leak?

Hi, Have started to have to keep topping up the level on a sealed vented system (I think that's what it is - conventional boiler plus cylinder, cylinder vents into cold water tank, boiler and cold in loft, HW cylinder ground floor). The system runs ok on heating but switching on HW at...

LED downlights glow slightly with power off

I know you guys hate bringing up old threads, but heh I can take the wrath :) Will this damage the LED? There are various opinions on line. I believe I have the 2 way switch scenario, with leakage across the wire. The one way connected lamps have no glow. Will this damage my new SMDs? I...

    Pressure washing slates

Hi, got a quote to redo the roof. The roofer suggests we could re-use most of the slates but they're covered in green, so I was wondering can they be cleaned up safely with a pressure washer? All the slates would be coming off so this would be pretty easy. Not sure they're welsh slates but...

Turns out the blead nut on the pump had a stupid plastic cover which meant it wasn't tightening properly. Popped that off and got a standard 8 or 10mm and jobs a good'un :)

Hi guys, my friend has never used the phone in his flat and has recently tried to get it connected as his neighbours broadband in the flat downstairs which he was sharing (the broadband not the flat) was frequently out. The new provider said they would activate the inactive line but he had a...

Noisy pump on HW when CH has been on - FIXED

Hi all, I have this issue which I suspect is a duff pump. Had a couple of cold mornings this week and the CH has come on for half an hour or so. Now when the HW comes on the pump sounds like its struggling. To resolve I bleed the pump and then redo the system pressure. (Sealed system with...

Do all mono base kitchen mixers have a standard base size?

Just to round up, after I sorted out the mess from the pro kitchen installer I found behind the sink, the tap works great on cold, so long as no one else on the street is using any water ;) The diffuser never works on hot - nowhere near - but its great when it does on cold :D

Do all mono base kitchen mixers have a standard base size?

Hi, The minimum size is 30mm. The maximum is 45mm. Yes, this size is generally standard. Regards Whoop! Whoop! Reckon that'll fit no probs. The current base is 5cm and new is 5.5cm, pretty sure the old one won't have had less that a 2.5mm lip :)
