    ULEZ

Wasn't it predictable that a simple question of whether TFL can differentiate between Congestion Zone & ULEZ would lead to yet another in-depth discussion on environmental issues ? Sorry guys, that wasn't my intention when posting (n)

    ULEZ

Thanks Mottie, fortunately I'm far enough outside the zone to be unaffected (only had to pay the charge once since the ULEZ expanded) so I was only curious, but TFL's webpages are not helpful. But then the same can be said about much of the 'net, so many pages of out-dated info.

    ULEZ

Whilst not strictly 'cars general' I thought I'd run the following - Just out of curiosity I thought I'd browse the 'net to see what the London ULEZ charge might be in 2026. Interestingly TFL seems unable to differentiate between the ULEZ & congestion charges, the latter of which is apparently...

How long should a 12v Car Battey last?

'Ah yes of course, silly me I should have twigged it straight away having worked in adult care! There was me thinking 'why would anyone sell a battery that's been disabled?' No fun getting old.

    I'd Buy This! Would You?

Just like the Chevrolet 'bow-tie' on the crap that carries it today. Louis Chevrolet must be spinning in his grave

    Disabled use ? Just curious.

How long should a 12v Car Battey last?

The only problem with buying on-line is in the event of battery failure within the warranty period the supplier may well want it back for testing before sending the buyer a replacement. Given that the carriage costs are likely going to be down to you a large battery is going to be pricey due to...

How long should a 12v Car Battey last?

Ditto, 95AH vs the standard 70AH The car isn't used daily & a fair percentage of it's annual mileage is short journeys, so every couple of months it has 24hrs on a battery charger.

How long should a 12v Car Battey last?

I have an Audew that will be 5 years old next month. Allegedly will start up to 4 litre petrol/3 litre diesel & cost around £30 in a black Friday sale. Only used a couple of times (on other people's cars) & if dormant will go months with the power indicator showing full charge. I think such...

    As long as a politician's popularity ;)

How long should a 12v Car Battey last?

Before getting too excited about battery warranties read the small print. In many cases the 'free replacement' period is often only 12 or maybe 24 months, after that the retailer will replace the item at a cost percentage based on the remaining warranty & of course the price of the replacement...

Thanks for that, I'll give a corner a tug & see.

    carpet removal

A few years ago we had a fitted (bathroom) carpet laid over the top of existing vinyl floor covering (the design that emulates wooden floor boards) but now that carpet needs replacing. Is it likely that the fitter would have only glued the border down & if so is there a product that will remove...

The phase out of ice engines..

They are around here! Out of around 170 homes there is just one BEV (a company car that is charged at the guy's place of work) & three hybrids, two of which are self-charging. To be perfectly honest any interest I have in a plug-in hybrid is based on both reducing fuel costs & concern for...

The phase out of ice engines..

In the case of the former 400-450m, the latter .. rarely. Hybrids seem to be unpopular for some reason, but I would have thought a combination of battery traction for the regular sub 5 mile journeys with ICE back-up for when the battery range is exceeded, or 'someone' has forgotten to plug the...

'Ah yes I see, but not quite the case here as I'm prepared to at least consider the 'something' but I've zero experience of it .. hence the question.
