I'm a big fan of loctite 55, you can actually 'back' fittings up to quarter turn all in instructions. Used to do a lot of commercial work loctite 55 great on screwed steel I found it way better than ptfe. As above whatever works for you!

That is to be blunt an appalling install difficult to see anything good about it. The flue is a Grant white system vertical flue. The terminal should be a minimum 750mm from any surface, all in manufacturers instructions. No white flue should be on show externally the flue terminal should fit...

Obviously some differences in specification to boiler supplied in UK Grant combi's here have used a 3 bar prv for some time,around the same time they stopped fitting low limit pressure switches. Also all there combi's use 24L expansion vessel We run them at .5 bar

If you want use flat faced isolation valves just replace existing iso and compression elbow. Use existing nuts/cones I would personally add a smear of joining compound (for potable water) onto cones .

Extending stack to a similar high as your existing would certainly solve problem But I would try changing existing air admittance valve for a new one that's intended for external use.
