    Standard switch and smart bulbs should work. We have a couple of Hue bulbs - Very expensive. Work well and easy to integrate with Alexa. Quick Amazon browse, I think Tapo (Part of TP-Link, a well established comms kit company) are pretty good.

    How many other lights that you currently dim? Might be easier to get smart bulbs for them and replace your dimmer switch for a standard one. Or if always dimmed to the same level get some lower wattage bulbs Or.... Never seen one but just googled to see if there was such a thing...

    No. The foam is waterproof. Any damp on the brickwork will not be able to transfer through the foam to the plasterboard.
