    Dog gnawed door frame

Hello and thank you for reading this post. My dog got stuck in a bedroom and tried to get out by gnawing at the base of each side of the door frame. The damage isn't a lot but I'd like to repair it. I attach two photos. What is the easiest way to repair this damage please? Thank you for reading.

That's very helpful thank you. Difficult to say about the threads within the shower screen frame but the screws look fine. Thank you again.

    Which adhesive?

Hello and thank you for reading this message. Which adhesive would be best for the following situation? There's a two part folding shower screen which has runners top and bottom and plastic clamps top and bottom at each end of the screen. The top clamps face downwards and the bottom clamps...

    Unidentified switch

Thank you Taylor. I see now. It's the receiver unit that would have the mains connection. Yes there are out door lights, spot lights recessed into the surface of decking and also a circuit of perimeter lights fixed to the boundary fence. I'm at work now and will have to check later but when the...

    Unidentified switch

Thank you everyone for your replies. Flame, thank you. I will search for a receiver unit, then message again. Not sure about there being no power wires there as when I tested the switch to try to find out what its for it tripped the fuse in the fuse box. Tiger, I can't ask the vendor as the...

    Unidentified switch

Hello and thank you for reading this thread. I have moved into a new house. There is a switch by the backdoor which has an unidentified purpose. I attach a photo. Does anyone know what this type of switch it is please? It causes the fuse to trip if I use it. Could it be to do with some...

    TV aerial and cabling system

Dear SFK, Thank you for your helpful reply. If a new booster box doesn't produce a signal on the tv then this will definitely be the explanation. It would have taken a lot of figuring out otherwise.

    TV aerial and cabling system

Thank you very much for the reply. This is very helpful. There is no signal to the tv points around the house. I asked an engineer to look at it because I am particularly busy at work at present and do not have time to sort it out myself at present. The engineer said I needed all those works...

    Concealed toilet cistern leak

Pain in the arse it is TP. This is a house built in 2004 but the designers still put an arrangement in where straightforward maintenance is near impossible.

    Concealed toilet cistern leak

Thank you bobasd. The cistern is quite low down and the top of the false wall is quite high up so my arm only just reaches under the cistern to the nut.

    Concealed toilet cistern leak

Yes, some of the horizontal wooden batten could be cut out. With access only from the top though, it's a fiddly job overall.

    Concealed toilet cistern leak

Thank you for your replies, ideas, and guidance. I'm going to try to get the flush valve out and put a new one, then hope to get the pipe beneath water tight. Brilliant. Thanks again for all your help.

    Concealed toilet cistern leak

TP, thank you for your reply. I would strip it out but that means taking apart the tiled false wall which means a rebuild and also refixing of wc and sink. At present there's a part of the false wall at the top which is a horizontal timber batten which has the effect of making the top gap too...

    Concealed toilet cistern leak

Thank you for your reply. Would that mean renewing the flush pipe and once fitted ensuring all pipework beneath is water tight?
