    Lifting glued-down cushion floor

Thanks for that and I hope you’re right. If I ruin the stuff it’s 130 quid down the pan, and me taking up residence in the garage. Will see what the carpet shop folks have to say, manana.

    Lifting glued-down cushion floor

Evening all We had cushion floor fitted in our bathroom a couple of months ago. Despite the fitter inserting several additional screws to stabilise the plywood sheeting underneath, the floor has started creaking. Reckon I need to lift the cushion floor and put longer screws through the ply...

    Cracked shower tray

For what its worth, I've just installed a stone resin shower tray and enclosure, employing the very welcome guidance and advice from contributors to this forum. I was left in little doubt that the tray had to be bedded properly with tile adhesive or sand and cement, and the former is what I...

    Replace this bonding or not?

The only electrics in the bathroom are a single light fitting and a 12v extractor fan, both of which are on the RCD-protected lighting circuit. Thanks for your guidance and I won’t replace the bonding in question.

    Replace this bonding or not?

Apologies for yet another bonding question. Just can’t quite get my head around what’s required, and what isn’t. I’ve just replaced our old sink ( probably 80s vintage) with a new vanity unit. The hot and cold water pipes ( both copper) were bonded together with very old, very corroded clamps...

    Measuring replacement corrugated roof sheet

Thanks for that. I would prefer to replace the plastic sheet, though as I said in my OP it would be no more than a stopgap till I can have the whole roof done. It does serve one useful purpose, which is to let light into a space which is otherwise dark when the doors are closed. I'll...

    Measuring replacement corrugated roof sheet

Afternoon all I have a 1960s concrete sectional garage with an asbestos roof consisting of corrugated sheets. I intend to have the roof replaced as soon as I can afford it. At some point in the past a previous occupier has replaced one of the asbestos sheets with a section of clear corrugated...

    Checking continuity of bonding.

I’ve had a good poke around behind the kitchen cupboards with the endoscope, and I cant see any bonding on the kitchen water pipework, which is all copper, no plastic. The CU has RCD and MCB protection.

    Checking continuity of bonding.

There is a metal water supply pipe in the kitchen, yes, but if there is bonding on it, its not easily visible. I'll break out my endoscope and have a nose around behind the cupboard. Yes, the mains feed comes up through the floor in the bathroom, and its copper. Pretty sure there's no plastic...

    Checking continuity of bonding.

Hi all Another question about bonding. Having finished my bathroom refurb and reinstated the bonding straps on the copper water pipes, it occurred to me to examine the bonding cable outside. The cable departs the external meter cupboard, is pinned to the wall for about 3 feet, disappears...

    Domestic pipe bonding question ..

Thanks. Given that the earth cable that disappears into the wall is attached to Pipe B, then I do need to re-establish the connection between A and B.

    Domestic pipe bonding question ..

Good question. I had the floorboards up recently and I didn't see any evidence of blue pipe at the base of the incoming main. However yes, it could well have been replaced outside before we moved here.
