45 year old heating / hot water system

I agree low pressure taps can be affected by high pressure. Pressure reducing valves are available. Showers being painful? Reduce the flow rate or fit a multi patterned head. Or pressure reducer. Water bouncing out of basins, reduce the tap flow. Run as slow as possible and the water wasted...

Heating on top floor but nowhere else

If the pipes are 10mm at the rads it could also be a blocked manifold or two. I've seen it before, guy before me changed a rad, it didn't work, so he swapped it for a bigger one. Didn't work so he didn't come back. Charged her for it though. I went and traced pipe work back to a manifold on...

    Twin flue pipes

I suggest you contact each UK supplier/manufacturer individually and ask for their twin pipe installation instructions . The replies you've received so far obviously don't match your required multiple guess quiz sheet answers.

Salus RT500RF:Heating keeps coming on when thermostat is set to low

you need to follow the installation instructions to change the jumper positions to your choice, or get your landlord to organise. it isnt rocket science. many people dont like salus controls, i installed loads and rarely had a problem, the problems i came across were installs that were never...

Salus RT500RF:Heating keeps coming on when thermostat is set to low

rt500 had dip switches in the receiver and corresponding jumper links to remove in the sender unit when commissioning. quite common for fitters to bang them in without following instructions. if the installer next door fitted the same controller and did the same then next door could be...

New boiler - poor flow - total noob question

I don't diagnose by swapping parts. I'm a sole trader, can't afford to swap stuff Willy nilly. That's why I own a multimeter, I've got three actually! Analysis of symptoms is something you gain with experience and training. I've been gas qualified 25yrs, plumbing and electrical 35yrs and self...

That'll be me then. Fix all brands and models. 25 yrs experience in fixing boilers. Rubber hoses plastic hydraulic blocks etc etc. Downward spiral, crimped clips on hoses instead of jubilee clips. Isar boards, lack of access, having to remove parts a,b,c just to get to d. Absolute joke. Put a...

    Intergas boiler

Sorry, my reply doesn't answer that question. Heat only boilers will usually have a fan and gas valve, pump is usually external. I'm not familiar with that model tbh.

    Intergas boiler

Fan pump gas valve and flow switch for hot water. Most other boilers have diverter valves, diaphragm, pump proving switch etc etc. Also no plate heat exchanger in an intergas, which , are prone to blockages on dirty systems.
