what size cable - Garden consumer unit

You need to engage your electrician and discuss with him what cable size is required and how much of the work he is happy for you to do. He's the one who has to sign the certificate saying that he designed, installed and tested the work.

Lithium powered boat destroyed in Northamptonshire

300 million is 300 thousand thousands. How long ago it was is not really the point, is it? It's the rate of sequestration versus the rate of release back into the atmosphere that matters.

Lithium powered boat destroyed in Northamptonshire

Of course it is! By burning fossil fuels we are taking carbon that has been stored over 1000's of years and releasing it back into the atmosphere over several decades.

What's your wall chaser of choice?

My experience was similar to that TTC describes I live in a 1930's terrace. The plaster skim coat is about 3mm thick and the sand and cement base coat about 2cm, but mine is very soft and sandy, just crumbled away to powder as soon as I touched it. The bricks, however are extremely hard. I used...

Induction Hob - what is the maximum rated power hob I can install in conjunction with a with a 3.5KW oven on a 32A cooker circuit?

Except that they have the choice of entering into such a contract, or not. So they are not compelled to comply.

Induction Hob - what is the maximum rated power hob I can install in conjunction with a with a 3.5KW oven on a 32A cooker circuit?

P drop, Not sure you've grasped the fact that, with the exception of rented properties covered by Landlord regulations, from a legal point of view, almost nobody has to comply with what BS7671 or the IET say. Get several quotes, go with the one you prefer.

    Junction box for moving socket

I'd say that a junction box behind a radiator is not accessible so it needs to be a maintenance free JB. I've never seen any that will fit in a 2-gang backbox

    Searching for Eaton rcbo

Yeah, they're about £100 inc. each. So £900+ labour. Not actually that much in terms of the amount of other work needed on the building in preparation for a new, fully repairing, lease.

Hi, does anyone know if Eaton Memshield do a 32A C curve type A SPSN 10kA single module width RCBO to fit their TP+N DB.and if so, the part number? I've searched every supplier I can think of and can only find solid neutral version. We'd need 9 of them. Looking at Eaton's web site just adds to...

115V AC between the dishwasher and the tile edging?

The RCD did not trip as the current imbalance was not sufficient. Dishwashers, etc, generally have a delta suppressor capacitor, which places low-value (often 0.1uF ) capacitors between L-N, L-E and E-N. If the appliance chassis is not, for some reason, connected to earth, then the chassis will...
