Where's the self responsibility (are these folk thick?)

This doesn't even make sense. Why would I have sympathy for systemic failures? Unless someone is mentally challenged, I have zero sympathy for them if they buy stuff to ingest, slap on their skin/teeth, or inject when they know little to nothing about the 'company' or individual selling the...

Where's the self responsibility (are these folk thick?)

Let's say you buy a product/service from a legitimate business and it turns out to be something else e.g. counterfeit and/or dangerous. In that scenario you have my sympathy. However, a couple of weeks back there was a piece on the news about fake weight loss jabs. One woman was giving her...

Firework season - is there one?

Not saying it's right or wrong, however I suspect in the coming years most fireworks as we know them today will be banned from public sale. I know that many people with pets or those who run animal sanctuary's etc say it can be a nightmare few days for the animals.

The Bell hotel. Looks like it’s set a precedent.

On Sky News this morning there's a piece about government contracts out for tender now for migrant hotels. Apparently, some of these contracts run into the 2030s. MMmmm ... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c8xgzprn1vjo

    Recycling Tory policies

Yes it comes across as conspiracy theory-esque, however I'm more and more convinced they (government past and present) don't want to solve this in the true sense of the word. Whether it's because they (the small boat people) are a useful diversion from other socioeconomic failures or something...

You couldn't make it up, migrant "accidentally" released from jail

Maybe, just maybe, WE have the combined skills to run the country? The DIY Not Forum Party? If we get in, can I be Minister for the Betterment of Bikinis for Women? It's a brief I'd be very keen to get to grips with!

You couldn't make it up, migrant "accidentally" released from jail

They were talking about exactly this on a news prog the other night. Because politicians are always vying for votes (new or to retain) we get all the guff, the rhetoric, the desire not to directly answer questions, the pivots, the misdirection etc. Politicians and their parties promise the...

You couldn't make it up, migrant "accidentally" released from jail

When you think about it, it is strange that some random politician can be given a department to head in a sector they maybe have limited experience of, if any! Yes they have teams of folk and advisers behind the scenes who actually do the work, but even so. MP Joe Bloggs was originally the...

The Bell hotel. Looks like it’s set a precedent.

If the £££ in this article is anywhere near accurate, the cost involved in housing these people is, emmm, on the significant side! It links to another point I sometimes make. Government want to put our taxes up, however how much of the existing tax take is wasted? It seems to me a not...

    Oh no....

For me it's more to do with spending time with mum, who lives alone. I realise she's not going to be here forever so if she enjoys watching it, I'll go with the flow. Neither of us are avid fans by any means, but it's something to watch and by the same token, we don't mind it.

Any chance of a refund from the French?

Whole life sentence. A phrase that our legal process is increasingly not aware of. We prefer to think about rehabilitating the scum and letting them out after 20-30 years to live the rest of their life free.

    National Grooming Gangs Inquiry Announced

Why have we become so averse to stating facts? As you'll know if you've read my posts in other threads, I'm all for the law treating everyone equally. I also don't like when groups are, in my opinion, unfairly singled out and I'll frequently counter that by stating how x other groups commit...

    Oh no....

I watch Strictly with me old ma, however we leave it to record for a while so we can fast forward through much of it e.g. stuff like the 'training' videos.

It's a new Government policy that sits alongside One in One Out. The new policy is called One Out.

    Bon Voyage to me

They were probably looking at you thinking 'That guy should be on Strictly, either as a pro dancer or presenter when Claudia and Tess leave.'

Here's an example of why the migrant issue will never be solved

Our legal system is a complete and utter joke. Smash the gangs? Taking it seriously? What a load of old sh1te. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-15223423/Albanian-drug-dealer-stay-UK-judge-remorse-learnt-lesson.html

Reform party ditch all the tax cuts they promised

Reform better get used to this, because as they say, the more established a political party becomes, the more it is scrutinised. Even more so if the party is making a bid for government. They'll be no better than the others for this sort of stuff. Whether they'll be worse remains to be seen.

Any chance of a refund from the French?

Hundreds of millions of our hard earned tax pounds given to France and the end result? Pathetic, like this whole shambles.
