Any chance of a refund from the French?

As with many other things, we've made it tough. Our own laws and legislation have ironically become a barrier to getting things done.

    Friends

For some reason I also never watched it and never have since. I can only assume I dipped into it all those years back and thought 'nah, not for me.' Mind you, would be boring if we all liked the same stuff. I love, as in LOVE Curb Your Enthusiasm whereas others say 'what, you like THAT sh1t???'

Any chance of a refund from the French?

Like the UK government, they (the French government) also seem completely apathetic in terms of having a determination to stop these boats. It's almost laughable seeing the story of the guy being removed then sneaking back in under the sh1te one in one out scheme. Maybe we'll give them little...

    Coffee Down Drain. Fine?

Fine, have the fine (pardon the pun) But £150??? Not sure if completely true, but apparently if these folk who monitor city centres etc ask for your details, you can simply walk away and there's not hellish much they can do to stop you?

    One out, (same) one in

All together now ... In out in out shake it all about, we do the one in one out and we tuuuuuurn around, that's what it's all about!

To all those that welcome/encourage the small boat migrants.

It was destined to be a totally ineffective policy. For whatever reason, they don't want to solve the small boat crisis.

Welcome to the Trump administration's mantra.

American secretary of defence wears Russian flag tie

They certainly live on a different planet metaphorically these world leaders. As for Trump and Putin, I think he (Trump) admires Putin. Either that or Putin has something on him. Or maybe both. Trump's face certainly seems to light up for Putin more than most other leaders he meets with.

Rachel Reeves says higher taxes on wealthy ‘part of the story’ for November budget

Let's face it, regardless of anyone's views on thumping the very top for more tax, it ain't gonna happen. It's another one of those things some politicians bang on about, however who on here truly thinks we're going to see any time soon the mega rich paying the 1% more, or whatever other...

Mandatory ID cards (Brit Card) to be announced tomorrow

With relation to this thread, I've never subscribed to the 'if you're doing nothing wrong you have nothing to fear' argument, when it comes to proposed or actual further restrictions to our freedoms. Just because you're a law abiding citizen doesn't mean you should be automatically comfortable...

What have Reform achieved in local govt so far?

Really? Jeez, you learn something new every day ...

What have Reform achieved in local govt so far?

With the SNP up here, whenever they can, even if extremely tenuous, they'll link an issue to Scotland not being independent. Especially when people expose their flaws after near 20 years in government, the SNP will say 'it's because we're restricted by being in the union.' Reform do the same...

    Affordable housing

I got diverted by roadworks into a new build estate near me. Properties crammed in like sardines, not so much streets I was driving through, more like very wide paths. The properties look not bad when new, I do wonder what these new schemes will look like 30 years from now given the cheap...

    Affordable housing

A guy on the QT panel this week made a great point. The UK has got itself well and truly bound up in planning restrictions and an overly bureaucratic system in general when it comes to planning and/or implementing nearly anything. Year in year out housing is talked about, with politicians and...

Reform party ditch all the tax cuts they promised

Look, Milliband has said, actually he's guaranteed, that our energy bills will come down, so that's good enough for me! Politicians don't lie to us about this stuff you know, neither do they try to pull the proverbial wool over our eyes. Ok, prices might not come down until 2050, maybe 2060...

Reform party ditch all the tax cuts they promised

There are only so many ways to slice the proverbial cake. I think to a large degree, it's almost irrelevant who's in power, unless there are some truly significant changes ... which there won't be.

Reform party ditch all the tax cuts they promised

I think some, obviously not all, are growing increasingly disillusioned with the SNP. You're right, Scottish Labour was gaining traction but much of that has dissipated, possibly due to Starmer et al. So we find ourselves in a situation where Reform are gaining in the polls. I think that...

Reform party ditch all the tax cuts they promised

In what sense? Do you mean you'd be happy for Scotland to break away? I'm not asking that in a contentious way, just asking the question :)
