cant comment for Viessmann, ive worked on vaillants for years, good solid boiler, the good thing about vaillaints is they carry on making parts for them after 20+ years, other manufacturers depending on model stop making them 10-15 years :)
still cant understand why everyone slags bg including customers and fitters, weve all had a stint there like mentioned and as for customers...well they dont have to buy the boiler through bg do they??everyone makes mistakes etc.just life
forgot to say yeah parts still available but the tank u cannot get.some advice if uve got one of these and u havent had it serviced.......get a co detector!!!!!
the old powermax had many safety issues depending on its aga.many now at 10 years old need all burner seals replacing etc,new burner and baffles as they can give off high co readings.baxi wont even work on them if they are older than 10 years which says it all!!!
he shouldnt need to drain system, popular method with plumbers is to "bung" the system.its where u plug off vent and cold feed to hold the pressure in system thus saving having to fully drain
LF fault on these is flame detection error,U would normally change electrodes on any other boiler 4 this fault but with these its normally p.c.b fault if it hasnt already had the updated p.c.b fitted i.e not rectifying
its very rare a heat exch gets scaled.a plate-plate will get blocked with sludge etc but thats on the heating side,in general if u checked the cold water side it will be clear.similat to twin pass h-exch.to check thermistor u disconnect wires at sensor, set multimeter to resistance then chk...
easy to change just o ring and spring clip,it could be thermistor but u would need to chk thermistor readings with a multimeter, cant remember exactly wot they should be.obviously could be gas pressures which is the first part of any gas engineers fault finding but to be fair it rarely is that.my...
how olds the boiler??????its very rare for a twin pass h-exchanger to have scale issues even more so on a 28 i junior cos there fairly new??if the boiler is modulating on off to a set time then could be thermistor,if its on off to different times then my moneys on flow sensor breaking down
depends whether that model has a plate-plate h-exchanger in it?if it has a twin pass h-exchanger in it and hot water is intermittant and works when heating is on then the likely culprit is the domestic h-water flow switch :P
