    LED bulbs flashing

Thanks Bernard, as above reply, having done some research it appears to be a well know problem with LED bulbs, but this issue has only just occurred following approximately 6 years of trouble free use ?. I don’t recall her even changing a bulb during that time, certainly no electrical work...

If you want discreet and hard wired have a look at FitcamX range. I have one in my Toyota and previously had one in my Jaguar, they replace the shroud behind the interior mirror and some connect to the electrics by the mirror.

On a separate note, there’s a distinct lack of pipe / tank insulation up there.

    VHS to CD

1st step is to get it off the VHS Tape and onto a HDD, once there you can edit it etc. Getting it onto a DVD first maybe a good first move before the tape further degrades or gets damaged.

Can condensate pipe be connected to washing machine standpipe like this?

Hardly think that’s likely with it being a condensate pipe, although it would be good practice to fit a clip or two.

What sort of pipe connection is this?

Providing the flexible hose is long enough you can do away with the coupling, also you can get the flexible tap connectors with a built in isolation valve. Makes things easier if you need to isolate the tap for any reason.

    Plastic fittings

Be careful mixing different brands of plastic, they will all offer a warranty on their system or onto copper, but if you use one brand of fitting with another brand of plastic pipe you may find it difficult if you have a leak. One may blame the other. I know a number of plumbers who mix systems...

    Polypipe fitting failed after 1.5/2years

The “original” Hep2o is the same, both a low pressure test and a further test up to 18 bar. This is because both Polyplumb and the “original” Hep2o fittings are “O” ring first, this basically means that when the pipe is inserted into the fitting it passes through the “O” ring first then the...
