High water usage - unvented cylinder?

Don't touch any valves relating to the heating system...there's always a chance they'll leak. If the heating system pressure is say 1 bar cold or thereabouts it is fine Try isolating the cold main coming into the property (under the sink maybe?) and at the cylinder cold inlet to the pressure...

That relay requires you to energise the coil by switching the Neutral...prob. not what you want.

You don't touch those immersion heaters. Normally with a cylinder heated by electricity you would have a duel tariff contract. The heater towards the top is only ever switched on to top up the cylinder if you run out of hot water during the day as that would use higher rate electric. The lower...

    Phev batteries

Are Toyota really any better or does a typical Toyota driver not notice so many issues? Certainly a few years back the company were a shambles, the firmware was a disgrace with pretty much every basic rule being ignored. Somewhere on the web are the Court transcripts that make interesting...

    Identify Boiler Pipework

15mm drops to each radiator is fine. Read up on heating design eg. https://www.cibse.org/knowledge/knowledge-items/detail?id=a0q3Y00000IhQ78QAF

    Identify Boiler Pipework

2 is the Flow, 1 is the Return. Is doesn't really matter which way the TRV goes...far more important is that it can sense the airflow returning the radiator ie. don't jam it in a corner or behind a sofa. Assuming the heat load is miniscule in the new extension it shouldn't matter too much...

    Underfloor heating Not Working upstairs!!

Are you saying the pressure gauge below the large orange box (the overheat thermostat) is showing 1 bar? It looks like it also shows the temperature in the underfloor loops too. A long time ago Nu-heat supplied Kee Triple pipe and sold adapters...they may have an idea of the pipes longevity. If...

Worcester Bosch Greenstar 8000 Life problems....Or are they???

The condensate is considered part of the boiler and despite your previous installer making a horlicks of it the work should be carried out by a reg. gas installer. https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/diy-gas.8090/

Worcester Bosch Greenstar 8000 Life problems....Or are they???

It looks like he's used a rubber bung to convert from the white condensate pipe to the black waste pipe and due to the fact that the white pipe is not a standard size he's used a ton of PTFE tape to try and seal it. It needs a proper fall on the pipe and a solvent reducer.

Worcester Bosch Greenstar 8000 Life problems....Or are they???

Show us another picture of the connection on the right (& pipework). It looks a right bodge and the pipe appears to have cracked. The installer can come back and re-do for free or get a Gas-Safe inspection and they will force him to re-do.

    Hot water, cold water, repeat

It would require the mixer cartridge in the tap fitting/shower valve to be replaced. Depending on whether those taps/shower valves have been installed correctly and how old they are determines the cost (and whether available). Another option is to fit non return valves on the hot feeds to the...

    Underfloor heating Not Working upstairs!!

Yes 2 port valves (with a thermal actuator I'd guess) for each zone...2 downstairs and 5 upstairs by the look of it. But overall a single Honeywell for the entire heating zone. I'm guessing the prog stats operate the thermal zone actuators, when they open their end switches operate and they...

    Underfloor heating Not Working upstairs!!

Looks like there's only a single motorised valve for all the heating (the other one is the cylinder). What's the pressure gauge showing just above the large orange overheat thermostat?

    Underfloor heating Not Working upstairs!!

Not so fast :) Now many years ago Keston made the worst boilers in the industry and very few gas engs. would even touch them (just not worth the agro). Some design aspects were absolutely dire. Originally Keston had a manufacturing facility in Romania of all places and they were an assortment...

    Underfloor heating Not Working upstairs!!

The word is it's prone to leaking and the company (based in ROI) disappeared years ago. AFAIK it has no oxygen barrier in the pipe wall and hence the green bronze pump and plate heat exchanger to separate it from the boiler circuit. Nuheat used the pipe for a while so it might be worth talking...

    Boiler output not hot enough

We need to know what version of pcb you have. The early type has a seperate temperature control so it's almost certain a refurb board would have been fitted. The later pcb has the temp control on the board and new they are £200+ for the part alone.

    Gas Safe changing specs

Yes that's the model with the module. He may well be looking for work but I always advise my customers whether their boiler has a reputation, with some models you need to warn the customer before you even turn it off for servicing as they can blow the fan or pcb when powering up again. To check...
