    Ford Fiesta cam belt

I assume you are talking about the Ecoboost wet belt? I think this mainly affects the 1.2 ecoboost. There is a lot of literature in forums about this, as well as youtube vidoes. To put it simply, some manufacturers moved to a "wet cam belt" design. Where the belt is sumbmerged in oil in the...

    Dpf cleaning or buying

Sounds like the the Eloys (or similar) additive which is a separate bag of fluid that is hidden away. I think the replacement interval is about 75k (depending on car brand + driving habits) so it sounds like you are right on the money! Hopefully that fixes your issues.

    Dpf cleaning or buying

Yeh, there are so many guides/suggestions on how to maintain a DPF it's hard to say. I could be wrong. From what understand, most modern cars maintain the DPF quite often without the owner realising. As long as the car is up to a good temperature and over a certain speed, the Engine Management...

    Dpf cleaning or buying

One thing you might want to check, is if there is another cause to the issue. The fact you are having emission issues when doing 15,000 miles a year and only 80k seems odd. Even if you aren't revving it, assuming you were doing long trips every so often should have been enough to keep the DPF...

Disconnecting Car Battery - Modern Cars

C4 Grand Picasso/Spacetourer 2018 The only reason I was concerned it needed disconnecting was a video on youtube that analysed the pulse repair mode of a charger similar to mine. He mentions briefly about the voltage being as high as 16v on pulse repair, which he says "is probably not good for...

Disconnecting Car Battery - Modern Cars

What is the general view of just disconnecting the battery for an extended period? Could it actually cause a headache?

Disconnecting Car Battery - Modern Cars

I have a car battery that is OK, but could do with a reconditioning charge, the pulse rectifier type. However from what I can see, it is probably best to disconnect it from the car to do this, as part of the pulsing includes hitting it with voltages over 16v (or something along those lines)...

Hotpoint Dishwasher HFE 2B+26 CN UK does not start

You might find this useful. https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1268507/Whirlpool-200-380-21.html#manual It's a service manual for a Whirlpool that might be very similar. Usually the internals of same brand dishwashers are used across the range and stay the same for a good long while. So all...

Hotpoint Dishwasher HFE 2B+26 CN UK does not start

Does the new latch include any switch contacts that might be engaged by the latch? It very much sounds like something is not making a connection or engaging a switch/contact. Look at what the latch connects to. Is there a relay or something that needs replacing.

Hotpoint Dishwasher HFE 2B+26 CN UK does not start

Well, it should be a very easy and cheap fix. Just look for spare parts on ebay. Quite often the parts rarely change, so find the part number and look for the cheapest you can find. Youtube will have plenty of videos on latch repairs. Dishwashers are usually pretty similar so it is certainly...

Hotpoint Dishwasher HFE 2B+26 CN UK does not start

Very hard to find fault codes or beep codes for this model: The basic manual does suggest it could be door related if it fails to start. but that is only a very basic "problems" help page in the manual as demonstrated by the first one  . Have you tried looking at the catch more closely...

Samsung EcoBubble stops at 35 minutes?

Have you tried pulling out the machine and running it whilst ensuring the drain pipe has no kind of kink or bend in it at all? A straight angled run to the drain. Basically giving the drain pump the best possible chance of running with as little chance of resistance in the pipe as possible.

Hotpoint Dishwasher HFE 2B+26 CN UK does not start

It could be a latching issue. Not a seal issue, but the latch may not be making contact with a switch or relay so the dishwasher can't tell if the door is closed or not. Are there any lights illuminating along with the beeps. The ones above each programme often light up and the number that are...

First ever Tumble Dryer - what to go for

I tend to agree, but I am a cynic when it comes to modern appliances. As nice as it is to be eco-friendly, and I do admire the tech. Quite often people are spending a lot of money to save a bit of money, and the likely repair or longevity costs are something that is not often considered outside...

First ever Tumble Dryer - what to go for

Condenser dryers are far more prone to allowing warm moist air to escape into the room they are in purely from how they operate. They do not extract the heat from the condensed water. So the steaming hot water (upwards of 60c) is constantly evaporating. If the water is kept in the collection...

First ever Tumble Dryer - what to go for

Quite likely because it is a 30year old Bosch, when they were made in Germany and to a good standard. The majority of Condenser dryers these days are poorly made and badly sealed. Also, using them in a tank emptying mode probably makes them more likely to leak moisture. If possible connecting...

First ever Tumble Dryer - what to go for

Options: Vented - (heat and moisture is vented outside) Pros: Generally cheap to purchase. Simple operation and not much to go wrong (unless you buy one with needless bells and whistles). They dry clothes very quickly and can be very convenient. Cons: Expensive to run, especially if...

    Samsung RSH1DBRS1/XEU

A quick search confirmed my memory that there is a "recall worthy" issue with a lot of these samsung american style fridge/freezers. I found this article, which may not match your issue exactly, but is representative of the known issues with this style of Samsung appliance...

    Samsung RSH1DBRS1/XEU

My brother had a double door samsung american style fridge freezer. I can't remember the model number, but I remember he started having continuous issues with ice build-up. I do vaguely remember him saying he looked into it and it turned out to be a very common fault, almost recall worthy. I...

    Dishwasher mechanism changes - curious

Not a repair question, just a curiosity ponder. My Bosh dishwasher is about 24 years old now. From what I have seen when stripping them down, under the skin, the design has changed very little. If anything the construction quality of new stuff is lower. But, one thing I have noticed is that...
