Drayton stiff TRV - can't turn off completely

You can try it. You never know. If it was me I would just go for broke. If it breaks you are gonna have to buy a new one anyway. Ted

Drayton stiff TRV - can't turn off completely

If when you take the head off the pin is moving up and down freely then the body is probably ok. To be honest it is probably worth buying the whole thing, trying the head first then if it doesn't work change the body. Ted

Drayton stiff TRV - can't turn off completely

If it is really stiff then you are probably better off getting a new head. If you try using grips on it you run the risk of breaking it. If you just want the rad off and never on use get a decorators cap as mentioned above. Ted

Drayton stiff TRV - can't turn off completely

I don't want to step on anyones toes here but the 212's do go all the way to 0- and hence off. I would imagine if the room is very cold at the moment it is still operating on the frost setting. Ted

    How do these guys sleep

As i had to put the basin back i had to level this one. Well luckily i hadn't eaten all my lunch so i had some bread left over which i stuffed in the gap. Where the gap was a bit larger i used cheese. Actually with the basin screwed back to the wall, plus a bead of silicone it levelled...

    How do these guys sleep

Good Evening. Just finished a boiler swop in a bungalow. Thought it would be straight forward- that was my first mistake- I should have realised the previous plumber might not have been that good when none of the radiator drops had drain offs on them. Joy. Cream carpets too. Anyway...

Did you not check this guy out first? Why don't you trust his judgement? I take it he was Gas Safe registered? Ted

Broken Glass on old fire and BBU.

Make sure you don't use the bolier either until you have replaced the glass. The fire forms part of the flue for the boiler and needs to have the glass intact.

    Plumbing Plans/schematics

*bump Anyone got any ideas? The drawings don't have to be professional. Just sketch drawings showing where the pipes runs are would do. Cheers Kitted Up

    Plumbing Plans/schematics

Morning all, cap in hand job here I'm afraid. I am getting to the end of my NVQ Level 3 6089 and I am having a little trouble sourcing plumbing plans/schematics. The course evidence folder is, in my opinion, very much aimed at plumbers working on site or in new builds and therefore it...

    So CORGI is going

Feel I must apologise as I have just re-read the CORGI feature in Jan Gas Installer and it does state that only Gas Safe registered installers will be able to join the new CORGI scheme. At least they have that right. The problem I can see now is that the general public are (mostly) aware...

    So CORGI is going

I think you are all missing the point. Yes the CORGI will no longer "look after" the register of gas operatives on the 31st March and it will go across to Captia and be operated under the "GAS SAFE" brand, but CORGI aren't going anywhere. In all the trade publications I've seen recently...
