    Yeah it should help. The injector has a larger bore not usually needed if your pressure is higher.

    They're just compression fittings. If the nuts and olives are already there then its just a case of sticking your pipe in and tightening them up.

    Check the return inside the boiler. It should be the same temp as the return underneath the boiler. Diverter may be seized as you say which would also explain why the HW is very hot to start with.

    Pumps running dry. Top up the pressure to around 1 bar assuming you've isolated or re fitted the rads downstairs. Google Worcester filling loop or search the FAQs on this site on how to top up.

    Most batteries should last 18 months / 2years in that type of stat. It would be simpler to just replace it for a new one of the same sort. Look at the Honeywell cm907 2 wires wouldn't be enough to run a mains powered one.

    The smaller one is just a cap. Remove it and use an alen key to open the valve.
